Q: Remove device from "My Devices" list in iCloud.com "Settings"

Hi,

I have upgraded my iphone and followed everything to disassociate from my account.

I have turned off find my iphone, then erased the phone.

As a result, I can't see the old phone on find my iphone. Great.

BUT... if I go to iCloud.com, in "Settings", I can still see the old phone listed here, and can't do anything to remove it.

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

If you still have the old phone, try singing out of iCloud on it (delete the account if it's running iOS 7 or earlier).  The list shows devices signed into your account.

    Hi,

I still have the device, but I have erased it.

Does that mean I should set it up again, sign into iCloud and then sign out again?

    Thanks for your help.

It might be worth a try but I can't be sure this will work.  A number of people have posted with the same problem and I haven't seen a confirmed solution yet.  I'm just speculating that because the list shows devices signed into your account (probably as part of an enhanced security measure from Apple), that signing out on an old device will remove it from the list.  But as I said, no one has tested this to my knowledge.

    Hi,

So just to give people more context, your solution did work.

But as I was expecting it, I had to resetup, login, and logout.

So just to summarise, here are the steps I took:

    - Re-setup the old phone (just set it up as a new phone, to be quicker)

    - When prompted, login to iCloud on the old phone

    - Once the phone is activated (you'll need to put the SIM card in):

         - Go to Settings > iCloud > Find my iPhone and turn it off.

         - Go to Settings > iCloud and click on sign out (this will sign you out of iCloud on this device)

At this point the device should be gone from iCloud.com's list of devices, and you can reset it once again.

There you go, hope it helps other people!

Nice info if you still had the device in hand. I will remember that step when wifes new iP6 arrives. However, if the device is already gone then what? Just when you follow the directions as stated there is STILL another step!!  Apple doc states, "erase all settings and content, that will prompt to turn off find my phone" . So I turned off FMP 1st, then erased all content and settings. Never signed out of iCloud totally dang!  Now have old device stuck in settings (not in FMP though so that's a plus I guess.)

I have the same problem. Upgraded to iPhone 6+. I turned off Find my iPhone and erased all settings and content. I no longer have the old phone, but it still shows up on iCloud.com as a device. I tried clicking on the device like the directions said, and nothing happens. How do I remove this phone?

Ha Ha, I have this issue ALSO.

I did exactly what Apple said to do before selling my phone.

    Turn off Find My iPhone

    Erase phone

    Connect to iTunes

    Reinstall iOS 8

    Remove SIM card

    Turn phone off.

Go to iCloud.com > iCloud Settings > iPhone 5S still shows up.

    What next?

Is there anyway to get rid of the devices listed in iCloud if I no longer have the phone?

I'm in the same position, I no longer have my old device... I did a complete wipe (which forced me to enter my Apple ID/password which I did.  It should work like Find my iPhone and give you an option to remove from the web interface.

Nothing that I've performed has removed the phones. I actually talked to Apple Support for over and hour and even one of the Senior Techs could not solve this issue. All it did was cause frustration for the tech as he was 100% sure he would solve the issue. Nothing worked so he said let it go for 24-48 hours and when I checked it's still there.

We even attempted to remove my MacBook Pro and that didn't work as well. All three devices are still there so I blame it on Apple and how the website handles instruction.

That is just silly. Does anybody know if the device will delete itself once another icloud account is activated on the phone? Or is it stuck like this forever?

Just for additional info, I've had the same situation upgrading to a new iPad.   The old one has gone to the recyclers having been erased of all data and settings, it no longer features in 'find my phone' but it is listed in iCloud.com/settings/devices...
