Q: When syncing my iPhone 4S with itunes, it just gets stuck at stage 2 out of 4.

I just got the new iPhone 6, so i wanted to back up all my apps on my iPhone 4S. But it just keeps getting stuck at stage 2 out of 4. I'm pretty sure it's not the internet's problem (although whenever i check for updates, it always says the update server couldn't be connected, that I have to check my internet connection ). I've tried doing this at a few different places with different wifi connections and the result is still the same.
