Q: "on my mac" mailboxes disappear on mail 7.3

I am so tired of Safari mail.   The most frustrating of many is the intermittent loss of "on my mac" email mailboxes.  Mail 7.3.  Anyone have a clue?  Please?  thanks

    Safari doesn't run on Classic.  Also Safari has no "e-mail."   And "On my Mac" is only a feature of a separate e-mail applications from web browsers, except some versions possibly of Netscape.    Mail application is its own application.       Loss of mailboxes there often is due to Spotlight index needing to be reindexed.   You posted to the Classic forum, which has nothing to do with 10.9.5 an operating system 13 years newer.  Verify what you are running in Apple menu -> About This Mac, and post to the correct forum:
