Q: carrier can´t unlock my iphone

Hello, My name is Alejandro

I got an iPhone 5 that can´t use because the original carrier can unlock, they say is because I don´t have an account with them. I bought my device to a person that don't need it any more because she got a newer version and with a different carrier, so she told me to call this company to unlock it. I do not know what to do since I am in a different country and I can use my phone.

I hope you can help me.

iPhone 5, iOS 7.1.1

You can’t use that iPhone. Sell it to someone who can.

Call the person who you purchased it from and have her call the carrier. Only the carrier can unlock a carrier-locked device. We can't help. We are just users like you.

No one here can help you. Only the original carrier the device is locked to can authorize the unlock. If they will not unlock it for you then you cannot get it unlocked. Why not get in touch with the person you bought it from to see if they can get it unlocked, since it appears they were a customer. They might be able to request the unlock and get it unlocked, but you cannot. If you cannot get the former owner, then the phone is useless to you unless you use that carrier.
