This update was pulled by Apple Jodee1982 as it was found to be full of bugs!

I have an ipad2 and apple's original hdmi adapter. I couldn't get it to work this morning at school (we have an hdmi socket which goes into a projector) while it worked just fine last week. I also had problems with my 3G connection. When at home I found posts saying that after turning the ipad off and on again, 3G worked for a while, so I did that and now I find that the adapter works fine too with both TV sets I have (one is a Sony, one an unknown brand): the device is mirrored correctly and I have sound and video. Now I'm curious to see what happens at school tomorrow... I'll let you know, if you're interested (I'm in Italy but I don't think it makes any difference, does it?)

Does that mean when they get it sorted we will all have to do a complete update again shifting photos, music and video to make room, I hope not.

Faithjake, that's exactly what I thought!  Have Apple done this on purpos.  But when I phoned the advisor knew nothing about it.  I'll update you all on Monday when I've been to the Genius Bar.  I'm not letting them do a factory reset though as it's obviously something to do with iOS 8.  I'll either revert to iOS 7 or wait for them to do an update to fix It.

I've tried a reset no joy at all ,reset all setting still no joy it's  the ios 8 ,phoned up Apple regarding the hdmi issue they said if there are enough users with the issue they look into it ,she also pointed out I can't revert back to ios7 which I regard as a upgrade not ios.8 I think it's a down grade, the hdmi output is important to me if they don't fix,it this be my last Apple product

YYes let us no how u get along with the pad ,more people that stir up a stink about the it , more likely there take note ,I've tried everything humanly possible even used super powers lol nothing worked with my pad3 turn on off tried connecting it to my projector sony hs50 ,my TVs Sony samung ,people have gave me loads of tips nothing works for me ,I phoned Apple  they said a hard reset from a computer ,but I can't be bothered as I've herd people have tried that with no success.ive done a complete reset to wiped everything rebooted it no joy and reset all the settings ,still no picture on my tv all I get is the pad mirroed for say a second  then on the TVs it's come up lost signal ,on pad this accessori is not supported it all worked fine on all my displays until this update iOS 8,I'm not buying another lead from these people out of principle I rather but a new device ,as I don't like being messed around and conned .maybe just need a update if that's the case and they fix Asap alls forgiven if not this be my last purchase of Apple, and I mean it ,as this looks like maybe they have lost there edge, and android be my next purchase .since Steve jobbs died they don't seem to be as good .

Im able to make it work as suggested (play video then connect). But honestly, im not shure to keep IOS8 (iPhone 4s) Too slow, apps quitting often, big lag often in all apps... after the update, if still like that, i will go back to IOS7. Its normal, they want us to buy new stuff, unless they dont make money enough...

Although I do agree that something has changed (gotten worse) since the upgrade, I suggest you try looking at the receiving end as well . I tried at school again, where we have newly installed projectors attached to a chromecast and to an hdmi outlet; I used hdmi till last Friday because chromecasts do not communicate with apple devices very well. It wouldn't work anymore  either yesterday or today (but it works at home on two tv sets), so I tried projecting using the chromecast and discovered that it hadn't been configured yet. I configured it, then out of curiosity I tried plugging in the hdmi cable again and - magic - it worked!!! It mirrors the ipad once again (the chromecast app on the other hand is pretty useless as it only works with two o three apps, not even all google ones...): I do hope that apple fixes it for everybody, me I'm pretty relieved... I thought I'd share this because it might help someone.

Well, yep, rolled on 8.0.2 and load of pish, problem still exists. Roll on 8.0.3, in the next few days I suspect. Probability 8.0.5 before everything works properly!  Sad to see how quickly Apple have fallen from the standard that had set for others to follow. Now it's just about rush it out and reap the rewards, we'll fix it later!

AAnd the problems keep racking up, I know I am going to sound like a gullable consumer but I have, 3 iPhone 5s, 2 iPhone 4s, 2 iPads and an iPad mini (big family) every device is having problems, I brought 2 iPhone 5s last week as upgrades and they are both frozen while I tried to carry out an update.

am I being a drama queen if  I say I just want to get rid of them all, I pay more for Apple as they have always been simple to use and everything used to works and compatible but this last episode has just drained me. I'm on call now without a phone, I can't get hold of my kids and just spent 4 hours trying to sort two frozen phone unsuccessfully. Don't even get me started on the U2 album and the night i spent on the original update a night of my Iife i will never get back.
