Sep 21, 2014 7:52 PM in response to Yefchakby willpowern,★HelpfulTThis is the same problem I'm having. And I can't delete the backup from my old phone because it says it is in use. So I can't back up my new computer.

Sep 22, 2014 12:21 AM in response to willpowernby Yefchak,★HelpfulI think I fixed it by doing a local iTunes backup and then immediately doing a restore.

Sep 22, 2014 7:59 AM in response to Yefchakby willpowern,DI'd you do an iTunes backup of your old phone With a cable? And then restore your iphone6 from the iTunes backup? Using a cable? Is you old phone ios7?

Sep 22, 2014 9:06 AM in response to willpowernby Yefchak,Hi, I'm not sure of your question. The previous phone was on iOS 7. I did everything via WiFi & iCloud until last night when I posted my previous message. To "fix" the problem I did a cable/iTunes backup and then immediately a cable/iTunes restore.

Sep 22, 2014 1:04 PM in response to Yefchakby willpowern,Sorry. I meant to ask if you backed-up using your old phone (5s) and then restored to you iphone 6

Sep 22, 2014 1:18 PM in response to willpowernby Yefchak,Old phone was a 5, backed up via WiFi as I said to iCloud. Original operation with the new iPhone 6 was a WiFi restore of that backup.

Sep 22, 2014 1:52 PM in response to Yefchakby willpowern,I'm with you so far. What I wanted to know is what happened next. Did you plug the iPhone 5 into iTunes on your computer and back-up and then plug your iPhone 6 into the computer and restore. OR did you back-up your iPhone 6 into iTunes on your computer and then restore the iPhone 6 in iTunes using your computer. I promise this will be the last time I will ask for clarification

Sep 22, 2014 2:30 PM in response to willpowernby Yefchak,Hi,
No. As I said, everything was iCloud/WiFi based until the final step. That means that the iPhone 5 was backed up to iCloud via WiFi. The initial 'restore' to the new iPhone 6 was via WiFi. Only a two days later did I finally use a cable to backup and then immediately restore the iPhone 6.

Sep 23, 2014 8:40 AM in response to Yefchakby richphoto,I am now starting my 4th day waiting for apps to load, there are now about 8-12 apps still stuck in waiting mode. I even deleted them but then they keep coming back in the same state, Stuck Stuck Stuck.
looking at my battery use the backup restore of course is using 24% of the battery attempting and going nowhere.
This was a full iCloud backup and a Restore to iPhone 6 plus last Friday.

Sep 23, 2014 11:04 PM in response to Yefchakby Maureen415,Hi Yefchak - I had the same problem, and your solution of doing a cable-based backup and restore from my computer solved it for me as well. Thanks!

Sep 26, 2014 6:56 AM in response to Maureen415by Marcos Kirsch,★HelpfulI got the iPhone 6 on launch day, and a week later it still says "Restoring from iCloud backup". I have very fast 100 Mbps internet at home and even faster at work. I don't want to go go back and do an iTunes backup of the old phone and then restore to the new phone - I will lose a week of changes!
Any ideas?
I wish there was a way to tell
- That restoring is actually happening at the moment (the message is shown even when in Airplane mode)
- How much progress has been made / how much is left (progress bar or percentage)

Sep 26, 2014 8:16 AM in response to Marcos Kirschby Marcos Kirsch,★HelpfulTo add insult to injury, I have to chose between waiting an undetermined amount of time for restore to finish, or upgrade to 8.0.2:
"You can install this update when your iPhone is finished restoring from the iCloud backup"
If I stop the restore, I don't even know what's being lost!

Sep 26, 2014 10:11 AM in response to Yefchakby RockyCrystal,Hello!
I had the same problem with my new iPhone 6, and that’s how I fixed it.
I made a backup of my old iPhone 5s to my computer. Then I connected the iPhone 6 and restored it from the copy. It worked fine for me.
