Sep 21, 2014 7:07 AM in response to martinfromarlingtonby 2raj2raj,From what I can understand and based on my tests, the email notification is sent when you login to icloud.com and use the Finde my iPhone feature. If you use an iOS device to log in and find the phone a notification is not sent.
Give that a try.

I would also like to know how to do this. I use the feature to track my children.
Just use -> Find My Friends app instead of FindMyiPhone.
Much, much simpler, You won’t get an email, you don’t have to log in for each user, you can see them all on one screen...
You can even have it notify you when they leave/arrive at location.
-> Find My Friends: Frequently asked questions
Using FindMyiPhone is designed to find a lost iPhone, not track a kid...
-> Family Sharing and location
"Use location sharing with Find My iPhone
When you join family sharing, your family members will be able to help you locate* and secure a missing device. If you choose to share your location with family members, they will be able to locate your devices for you."

Sep 26, 2014 9:32 AM in response to Chris CAby mm590,Thats ok if they accept, but what if they don't! For instance when tracking teenagers they aren't going to let you know where they are! They will hide their location. With find my phone I can find them without them realising.

You take their phone, turn it on and disable turning it off in Restrictions.

Really? Are you paying for it?
If it is difficult, just call the phone company and have it turned off.
Pretty much guarantee you will get a call within 15 minutes.
Can anyone tell me why this has also changed on older operating systems too
Because Apple updated FindMyiPhone system wide.

What do you mean by an iOS device please?
A device that runs iOS (operating system).
iPhone, iPod touch, iPad.
If you use the FindMyiPhone app on your iPhone as opposed to logging into iCloud.com on a computer and using FindMyiPhone.

Sep 26, 2014 9:49 AM in response to martinfromarlingtonby JohnnyG91,There's a much more legitimate reason this email login notification is not at all logical. What if your phone is stolen??? There is no requirement that you must use a passcode to lock your phone. If your phone is stolen and you use Find My Phone to locate it, this email login notification is simply alerting the thief to go and turn off Find My Phone! Makes no sense to me at all. Apple needs to turn off the automated email notification or make it an option to turn it off.

Then obviously you aren to concerned with your +$700 small, portable electronics getting lost/stolen...
If your phone is stolen and you use Find My Phone to locate it, this email login notification is simply alerting the thief to go and turn off Find My Phone!
However, unless the thief also has the password to your AppleID, he cannot turn off FindMyiPhone!
