Sep 28, 2014 2:07 PM in response to Fingolfin269by LanB22,I contacted support today, just to register as one of many that these issues are affecting.
I started out on chat, it's so much easier for me than the phone, but I was told accessibitly specialist are only available via phone. Does anyone else find that ironic??? REALLY!! You have a department specifically to help those with accessibility issues...hello I can't hear but I have to CALL you???
At any rate the guy I spoke to, was nice, but had no helpful info. He has had a few other calls regarding this issue, he thinks it is an app upgrade that will fix it. Suggested I contact Starkey. He will of course pass on the info I gave him and suggest that they offer chat for people with hearing impairment.
The number for USA accessibitly support is 1-877-204-3930 only works in US, different numbers for different countries.

Sep 28, 2014 6:25 PM in response to dogsitterby dogsitter,I just had a long talk with Patrick at Apple's Austin "Assistive Devices" unit. He was GREAT! He took the entire earlier Chat Session, and asked lots of appropriate questions, and is forwarding all the information to the coders that work with this stuff.
I also passed on other information regarding TURNING OFF Wi-Fi while pairing, and improving throughput by keeping our iPhones away from direct contact with skin. He will pass those suggestions on as well.
If any of you want to talk with Assistive Devices, Patrick's number is 877.204.3930.

Sep 28, 2014 6:35 PM in response to dogsitterby SantafeNM,I will. My keep the 6 or revert to the 5S decision is 4 days away. Also suggest calling Starkey since they insist that iOS 8 works perfectly on the iPhones other tha the 6. Since I sold the 5S have no examples to give them.
Also perhaps they can explain why Apple Tech was unaware of this issue until today. Perhaps there is a engineer to engineer communication that Apple Tech is unaware of?

Sep 28, 2014 6:48 PM in response to SantafeNMby Fingolfin269,I can confirm with 100% confidence that everything works just fine on the 5S, even with iOS 8. We still have a 5S in the household so I just ran a test that took all of ~2 minutes (including downloading the Trulink app).
So my limited testing isolates this problem to the 6 (no access to 6+). It's not the OS, at least not directly since it works just fine on the 5S with iOS 8.

Sep 28, 2014 7:00 PM in response to Fingolfin269by dogsitter,We have multiple issues that are being discussed in this forum. I think you are referring to the PAIRING and CONNECTIVITY issue. That has worked fine for me too, but others have had a real headache with it.
The ticket that I opened up with Apple Assistive Devices Tech Support is a completely different issue, but should get their attention to look at other problems too. My issue deals with a change in the coding with iOS8 that breaks OTHER APPS (Siri, Camera.app (video recording) and Voice Memos.app WHEN HEARING AIDS ARE PAIRED.
The troubles that others are having MAY (or may not) have something in common with the issue that I reported. It would be great if there IS a common cause to fix multiple issues.
Like you, I have no problem with pairing or connectivity.

Sep 28, 2014 7:09 PM in response to dogsitterby SantafeNM,Multiple issues indeed! On the 6 it is not staying connected and inability to use the phone, random video saving success, but not use of Siri or voice recording. Siri does not speak to me through the hearing aids but works otherwise. When viewing a video recorded on the 6 the MusIc app begins playing the first song on its on.

Sep 28, 2014 7:25 PM in response to dogsitterby Fingolfin269,Ah, I understand what you're getting at here. I have been focusing on the fact that I simply cannot use the aids pretty much at all with the 6 and have not been paying as much attention to the discussion you guys have been having with the video type issues. Probably should though in reality considering all of these could have a single common link. Thanks for the clarification.

Sep 28, 2014 9:38 PM in response to Fingolfin269by LanB22,random thoughts I had...has anyone experimented with different settings off & on - like the hearing aid mode in iOS, or setting within TruLink, auto mute while streaming, auto car. Does toggling any of them off effect video recording or Siri working?
I don't keep auto mute on, but when on the phone or using directions I turn it on, if I forget to turn it off, there are a couple games I play that mute my aids, even though I have sound turned off in those apps. Apparently the phone doesn't recognize that the game sound is off and mutes my aids. When it first happened, I thought the aids were turning off. I am wondering if there might be some correlation with the other problems you are experiencing.
My husband is now using an iPhone 6, I am using it as tester before I upgrade. I was able to pair my aids, but streaming a phone call was terrible.

Sep 29, 2014 6:58 AM in response to LanB22by dbmtx,I just got off the phone with Starkey customer support. They took no responsibility for the fix to this and made it real clear to me that this was Apple's issue. I stressed the obvious and got the customer service words of comfort but no facts or updates. I really pressed to make sure my call was recorded somewhere and this is a critical issue..... They did say they expected something from Apple very soon.
So, Apple, your friend Starkey has left it in your court! We need a fix and we need it NOW.

Sep 29, 2014 7:10 AM in response to dbmtxby Fingolfin269,I meant to do this last week but plan to give my audiologist a call to ensure they are aware of the issue. Hopefully Starkey has already sent something out warning them that 'Made for iPhone' doesn't really mean it's made for anything past 5S (currently). I also hope they have better connections than any of us would with the company so can hopefully get better information that way. Will let you know what I find out.

Sep 29, 2014 7:24 AM in response to dbmtxby LanB22,And when I talked to Apple support yesterday they basically said it is probably in the manufacturer's app. They inform app developers of upgrades, it is up to the app developer to assure compatibility. It seems logical to me that issue lies somewhere in the connection with the 6 and iOS, it is not just Halos there are resound linx users reporting the same problems.
This morning I posted on PCmags facebook page that the hearing impaired community needs help, gave a brief outline or our issues and mentioned that Apples accessibility support is only available via phone. PCmag covers all things Apple. I am hoping that someone there finds that intriguing enough that they will cover the issue or at the very least research it bringing more attention to the sitiuation.
