Photos for MacIt may need to be re-connected. Please use Apple's instructions in Bluetooth: How to set up your Apple Wireless Mouse or Magic Trackpad. Let us know if this helps, if not then here is another article you can use Troubleshooting wireless mouse and keyboard issues. Although it says it's for mouse and keyboard issues, the same should hold true for a MTP.

Sep 29, 2014 11:55 AM in response to rkaufmann87by Richard Ellis4,I tried all these, but it still happens, on a random basis.
The battery is 75%, so it's not that. If I restart, sometimes it goes away, otherwise I use a mouse to click on the Bluetooth icon, and, even then, it takes several tries to get it connected

Photos for MacUninstall the MTP from your Blue Tooth Preferences and then restart in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. One or more cache more be corrupt. After the restart then re-connect your MTP per the install instructions.
If you don't know how to start in Safe Mode, here are the instructions. When you hear the startup tone hold down the keyboards Option key until a progress bar appears on the display. Let the machine fully boot then restart normally and reconnect the MTP.
