Q: Iphone 6 with a mind of it's own

My IPhone 6 will change screens by it's self.  When making calls it will dial random numbers. Help if you can.

iPhone 6, iOS 8

is happening for me as well. It's almost as if someone is controlling the phone at the same time I am trying to control the phone. The screens jump around a lot. The notification center will pull down on it's own. It seems like som areas of the screen won't react To touch. It actually started playing a son in iTunes all on it's own tonight.

Exactly the same issue here, it's gotten to the point now where I can't even unlock the phone because it's pressing different numbers by itself and locking my phone. CAN SOMEONE HELP?

Does it by any chance coincide with flying for you guys? In the cases where it's happened to me, it's been right after I've taken my phone on a plane. It was doing it awful on Sunday, and I flew back from Hawaii on Sunday. Today I took a trip to LA for work, and it started doing it again as soon as I started using my phone after we landed.

I'm having a similar problem. I was on a social media app, and it almost seemed that someone else was controlling the phone. I notice it only happens if it's plugged in though.

Take it to a Genius Bar and demonstrate the problem.  They'll evaluate it and determine whether it is covered under warranty.

YEs, I took mine into the GB, and they said it is called Ghost Touching and is almost invariably a hardware issue. The fix is either to replace your touch screen or your entire phine. I had my screen replaced as my phone was otherwise brand new, and haven't had an issue since. Been about 2 weeks.

My iPhone 6 was operating on its own while I was on a trip to Hawaii and hasn't happen since returning to Chicago. I notice it only occurred when I was on a 1X cellular network but didn't occur on an LTE network. Not sure if there's a correlation but thought I'd share my observation.

My husbands Iphone6 randomly dials people it can be locked sitting on the counter or he can be out and about. People call him back and he has no idea that it called them. You can hear the person in the background has no idea their phone has dialed out. One day it dialed me and I was sitting beside him it was plugged in on the counter.  This random dialing seems to only call people in his favorite list so far but it has been numerous calls. Apple says its a Verizon carrier issue. My Question to ALL who have this issue is what carrier are you on??? It could be very bad as you can hear background conversations of the people near the phone like an open reciever only they do not know the phone called and they are being listened to.  It has called his parents at nighttime.

Horrible need to get it fixed and YES this IS happening while the phone is LOCKED and not in use.

Did anyone find an answer yet as My husbands new  Iphone6 randomly dials people it can be locked sitting on the counter or he can be out and about. One day it dialed me and I was sitting beside him it was plugged in on the counter.  This random dialing seems to only call people in his favorite list so far but it has been numerous calls. AND YES this IS happening while the phone is LOCKED and not in use. Apple claims they have heard of no issues and Verizons says they have not heard of it happening to anyone else, are we sure. Well yeah we are sure... we've had smart phones since the very first ones came out, it is not operator error.!

Try  Take it to a Genius Bar and demonstrate the problem.  They'll evaluate it and determine whether it is covered under warranty.

as mentioned in this year old thread. Still relevant and is usually a faulty touch screen.

    Cheers

No sorry -we  can't reinact the issue at the genius bar because it does it randomly without you knowing it called someone. It doesn't do it everyday or at a set day or time. It does it whenever it feels like it. So yes it is under warranty and yes we took it in, but they say it is a VERIZON issue. Verizon says it is a phone issue.

Only one person has gotten an answer and that was to check and see if voice dialing was turned on in settings cuz that overrides lock screen. Ours was not turned on so ours like many is just ghost dialing. Changing the screen is not going to help if it really is a Verizon issue that is why I am asking what carrier the people with random iphone6 dialing are using. And Apple claims they have had NO one reporting that this is happening to their Iphone 6.

    Has it ever been Jailbroken?

It's 3:30 in the morning and my iphone6 is plugged in in the other room and just called someone on its own...The person's voice mail recording woke me up and and I thought someone was I the house! Freaked me out and I can't imagine the person that was called was very happy... Not someone in Favorites. Yes, I have Verizon but I can't see how that would matter..  Agree, can't take it to a Genius Bar to fix cuz I wouldn't know how to make it do that again,  Only other weird thing to happen (that I know of) was one other time I called someone and it disn't ring, but I could hear the person talking to someone.
