    You mean the Palm Desktop?

Run the installer and select uninstall from the drop down menu.

Mark, before attempting to delete the trash, just log out and backin again, that should allow you to get rid of everything in there. Something calling itself Localization would most likely deal with other languages. Incidentally, there's an application you can use that finds everything pertaining to an application and deletes it for you, it's called AppZapper

i'm having this problem too... i managed to delete everything but:

    /Users/Beth/.Trash/Palm Desktop Support.app
    /Users/Beth/.Trash/Palm Desktop Support 14-34-44.app
    /Users/Beth/.Trash/Palm Desktop 14-38-33
    /Users/Beth/.Trash/Palm Desktop
    /Users/Beth/.Trash/Palm Desktop Background.app

has anyone found that the program causes the keyboard and trackpad to freeze up?

    Mark,
I have exactly the same problem. I wrote to Palm and that was useless. I finally gave up and simply dumped the offending file in a folder and forgot about it. I did notice that there is a file with exactly the same name that Stuffit uses and wondered if that might be the root of the problem.

A restart or logout does not allow you to discard the file.

I had the same problem with the "localized.rsrc" file (plus others associated with the Palm Desktop). And the same frustrations with trying restart, uninstall from the Palm installer, etc.

For reasons I do not understand, the Finder > Secure Empty Trash option did delete the files from Trash. I gather from comments on various discussion sites that this might not work in all instances -- but it is certainly worth a try.

Open your terminal window and type this exactly:

    cd .Trash
    sudo rm -r *

It will ask for your password and then empty the trash.
