Mark, before attempting to delete the trash, just log out and backin again, that should allow you to get rid of everything in there. Something calling itself Localization would most likely deal with other languages. Incidentally, there's an application you can use that finds everything pertaining to an application and deletes it for you, it's called AppZapperiMac 20", 2.1GHz, 250GB HD, 1.5GB ram, Mac OS X (10.4.6), iBook G4 1.33Ghz, Maxtor 200GB onetouch III, 2mb DSL, Linksys WRT54G wifi
i'm having this problem too... i managed to delete everything but:
/Users/Beth/.Trash/Palm Desktop Support.app
/Users/Beth/.Trash/Palm Desktop Support 14-34-44.app
/Users/Beth/.Trash/Palm Desktop 14-38-33
/Users/Beth/.Trash/Palm Desktop Background.app
has anyone found that the program causes the keyboard and trackpad to freeze up?macbook 2.0ghz white, Mac OS X (10.4.6)
I have exactly the same problem. I wrote to Palm and that was useless. I finally gave up and simply dumped the offending file in a folder and forgot about it. I did notice that there is a file with exactly the same name that Stuffit uses and wondered if that might be the root of the problem.
A restart or logout does not allow you to discard the file.mac mini, Mac OS X (10.4.7)
I had the same problem with the "localized.rsrc" file (plus others associated with the Palm Desktop). And the same frustrations with trying restart, uninstall from the Palm installer, etc.
For reasons I do not understand, the Finder > Secure Empty Trash option did delete the files from Trash. I gather from comments on various discussion sites that this might not work in all instances -- but it is certainly worth a try.iMac 17 Flat Panel 1.6 GHz PowerPC G5, Mac OS X (10.3.8)
