Q: iCloud account timed out message. Lost all music from HD?
Hey guys,
We have an older version Mac mini from about 2009 or so and we have thousands of songs on our computer that are all in iTunes. Today I opened iTunes and got an empty iTunes library with a message saying my iCloud account timed out or something, and that I needed to sign back in. So I signed back in with my account and it loaded a library from my other computer of songs that I got from the iTunes store, but not any of the thousands of songs from CD's. So I checked the HD of the mini and found all our music right there under iTunes Music. I also found a button within iTunes that says scan for media. When I click it, it begins copying all of the original iTunes music back into iTunes again along with tons of pictures, videos and other things that don't belong in iTunes. Also, we only have 15 gigs of memory left on our HD and cannot afford to copy our library back into our library. Anybody know how to fix this. Is there any way to get iTunes to recognize that it does, indeed, have music under file? Simply signing back into an iCloud account won't work because 90% plus of our music is from CD's, not the web. Anybody have any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mac OS X (10.6.8)
