Re: iPhone 6 Plus Screen Orientation Sticksin response to GKI was having this problem, but if you go to Settings > General > Accessibility, then turn off Reachability it will fix it. You can then turn Reachability back on once you've confirm the orientation has been fixed.
Workaround: Turn OFF Reachability [Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Reachability] (Worked on my iPhone 6 running 8.0.2 !!).
Let's hope they fix this soon, but in the meantime it's nice to have at least a temporary fix.
Thanks for posting !

Oct 2, 2014 4:49 AM in response to rerateby machei,Thank you for this, I'll give it a try. However, it's a disappointing fix. I have been using Reachability. Having to choose one or the other is really something Apple needs to sort.
Helllooooo.... Aaaapple?? You reading this? Did you get that? Please fix with 8.1 this month! Thank youuuuu...

Oct 3, 2014 11:52 AM in response to rerateby saturnsk82,The disable 'Reachability' solution works!! But now really annoying that you can't get back to the first page by tapping the home button twice. Definitely a software bug.

Oct 4, 2014 7:48 AM in response to macheiby Justinjean,Another temporary quick fix is to turn the phone upside down and turn on the portrait orientation lock. It will rotate the phone correctly and you can still use the reachibilty feature. It's still really annoying because the phone still get stuck in the wrong orientation when held that way long. Hope this helps some.

Oct 6, 2014 9:57 AM in response to mannyvelby Rich00000,Iphone 6 att 64GB. Same issue with pictures having the wrong orientation and my phone being unable to rotate into landscape mode. Rebooting the phone is the only thing that seems to temporarily resolve the issue.

Oct 10, 2014 5:53 AM in response to mannyvelby DLR,Turning the phone off and back on worked for me. Although, I am sure it is only a temporary fix and the problem will return.
By the way, it might be more helpful if people file bug reports instead a long list of "same heres" in the discussions that don't get read by Apple.
