Q: Macbook constantly crashes. Can I reboot it or is it dead?
I have a MacBook Pro I think it was originally 10.5 Leopard however I recently upgraded it up to OS X.
It is so slow and constantly crashes. Even when I make it do the simplest task such as opening a folder but then if I manage to open Photoshop it will edit the file fine. It started to get slow about 6 months ago, before I upgraded it's software. Sometimes I have to just switch it off because it's been crashed for half an hour.
I have deleted all of my files off there (my photos as well accidently when I deleted the Windows partition) and it is still ridiculously slow. Is it broken/too old/dead or is there anything I can do?
I have recently brought a new one however I am going to give this one to my boyfriend as he only needs one for the internet/Microsoft word. Can I reboot it to it's original settings? I don't mind about loosing any of my files, although I would like to keep my applications if possible, I don't mind as long as it speeds up.
