Sep 29, 2014 5:34 PM in response to mterranovaby emtjoseph,Indeed, resetting all settings has worked for me. I have not been able to reproduce the issue since.

Sep 30, 2014 3:30 PM in response to emtjosephby jpdijock,It worked for me too until it happened again a few hours later.
I held down the on/off button until it asked me if I wanted to restart the device. I hit cancel and the home screen returned to normal.
I REALLY hope Apple address this bug with the phone/ios.

Oct 1, 2014 6:28 AM in response to mterranovaby ivluta1,Yea.....reset all settings worked for a couple of day....its back. I'm not going to reset all setting again, took some time to get all my settings back to the way I want. Apple need to address this issue.

Oct 1, 2014 7:18 AM in response to raymondfromnormanby Joyrex,I am also experiencing the upside down issue, and sometimes turning the orientation lock on and off again fixes it. I also cannot get the iPhone 6 Plus to go into landscape mode on the main screen from time to time. I'm going to try a reboot and see if that solves it or not, but it appears to be software-related and not hardware-related.
I'm on iOS 8.0.2, and didn't experience this on iOS 8 until the 8.0.2 update.

Oct 1, 2014 7:33 AM in response to kscableguyby jchan0907,I tried the Reset All Settings workaround and the condition came back after about 48 hours. I'be powered down the phone and powered it back on which seems to help for a little while. This needs a root cause and a fix as it makes the phone very frustrating to use

Oct 1, 2014 3:07 PM in response to Deniolanby Docal97,I have the same problem with a 6+. I have found the same solution as you mentioned, Namely holding down the home and power buttons simultaneously. When the iPhone restarts, the orientation is back to normal. I have to think that this is a software issue and will be resolved in one of the upcoming updates that Apple is sure to releaseo

Oct 1, 2014 3:13 PM in response to kscableguyby GK,I had the same issue. I just set the display back to standard and all apps rotate ok. I set it back to zoom (the mode I want) and all apps keep rotating ok. I guess that is what Reset All Settings is doing. I've just done it, so perhaps in a couple of days the issue will come back, but at least if that happens I can do this again instead of reset all settings.
By the way, I have an iPhone 6 (not a 6+) on 8.02. This is definitively a soft issue, not a hardware one.

Oct 1, 2014 7:56 PM in response to GKby Uyzer,I was having this problem, but if you go to Settings > General > Accessibility, then turn off Reachability it will fix it. You can then turn Reachability back on once you've confirm the orientation has been fixed.

Oct 2, 2014 3:11 PM in response to kscableguyby KiCkA$$,I am having the same problem. It is happening very often. When I turn on my phone it's in Landscape mode and I rotate it and nothing happens. It's stuck on landscape mode.
I turned off and turned back on and it is back to normal which is Portrait mode. It's ridiculous. Looks like it didn't get tested at all.

Oct 3, 2014 4:37 PM in response to kscableguyby nicoFR29,Having the same problem. I just locked the orientation and it came back to normal. Hope it doesn't continue though because it's annoying having to do that each time.

Oct 3, 2014 4:55 PM in response to nicoFR29by Maverick6017,YYes this is a minor glitch indeed. To fix this problem just make a call and hang up. This will reset the screen again.
IPhone 6 plus 64gb
i hold phone in a vertical position and attempt to call say for example *611 then hang up. Screen should return to normal.
