Oct 4, 2014 5:10 PM in response to Taildragger-J3by Faithjake, none of the video downloaders work either since ios8. i have two iPads, ipad mini, 1 itouch and 5 iPhones in the house, today was the first time since the iPhone came out that I have upgraded to another supplier Samsung. I also brought an Acer tablet today for a fraction of the cost of an iPad and I'm connected to the TV watching films. I have an iPhone 4s and an ipad2 on eBay and plan to clear out my apple products throughout the year. I am so unhappy with Apple, what a shame, what a **** shame that this need for control has ruined what was a good brand. I bet Apple do not even care about customers satisfaction or loyalty anymore, have they taken the time to answer anyone's question?

Oct 5, 2014 12:34 AM in response to Faithjakeby KWSpringer,I'm starting to wonder if this is deliberate or nor, maybe they have just rushed out the upgrade. There are so many problems that it may be more down to incompetence. The jerkiy image when you return to the home screen, constantly being prompted for iTunes password and having to reset it, the keybord disappearing when you hit the first letter in Google search box, WIFI regularly failing to connect .......... All never a problem until upgrading to IOS 8
BTW - Apple did reply to my complaint about HDMI cable not working - "switch off iPad and TV, then turn back on again". obviously does not work. Just BS everyone til storm passes

Oct 5, 2014 4:00 PM in response to Jodee1982by biff6981,HI, IOS8.0.2 does not fix the problem. Please complain to Apple/feedback, if enough of us do it they may do something. My ioad2 working fine mirroring TV until after update. As thus us a feature of the iPad maybe they should give ys all a new one.

Oct 5, 2014 4:06 PM in response to Taildragger-J3by biff6981,THousands of iPad users now have the same problem. Please complain to http/Apple.com/Feedback. If enough people complain (and there are loads in this community) perhaps they will do something. My iPad2 was perfect with AV cable to TV before festering update.myou are not alone

Oct 6, 2014 2:14 AM in response to biff6981by Scotts62,Do Apple Support staff actually monitor and respond to posts in this Forum?
If I post in Microsoft TechNet forums I usually get a response from MS support.

Oct 8, 2014 4:56 AM in response to Scotts62by Bramblepound,Same problem with HDMI lead. Have got onto the Apple Help Chat. after establishing what my question was, I declared I was aware of the known problem. Suddenly the session was ended because of a 'temp system issue'. I contacted again, once more, the same procedure, but this time I was transferred to a Senior Advisor, guess what? The line went out.
What a farce, the best thing for people to do, is when any Apple product is due for replacement, buy anything but Apple. They treat customers with contempt, they do not tell the truth. Have put in an order for the latest Samsung phone as Iphone was due for replacement.
Will do the same with my next tablet.

Oct 13, 2014 3:56 AM in response to Faithjakeby Nodge22,I know there's some conjecture that this is a deliberate move by Apple to disable combatible HDMI adapters (mine is a £10 3rd party product that I'd had about a week), but can anyone confirm that the official Apple HDMI adapters work?
-
Oct 13, 2014 5:54 AM in response to Nodge22by uppa,Yes, I can. I restarted the ipad and tried on two different televisions at home as well as projectors in various classes at school. They all mirror the ipad2 without a problem, and I have an orginal adpater (third party were difficult to find in Italy when I got mine).

Oct 14, 2014 4:32 AM in response to Taildragger-J3by Nodge22,Quick update...
Purchased an official adapter from ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281453622511?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=S TRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) for £10 and it works!
Cost me a tenner and a fair deal of wasted time - cost Apple £1000+ in future purchases.

Oct 14, 2014 10:16 AM in response to Nodge22by KWSpringer,Does anyone know if HDMI dongles work instead of cables? No physical connection to iPad and much cheaper
-
Oct 14, 2014 12:04 PM in response to Taildragger-J3by Taildragger-J3,Nodge22, I'm glad your "official" Apple adapter works. Mine doesn't.
KWSpringer, I'm not sure what kind of dongle doesn't plug into the iPad. I've used Apple TV without a physical connection to the pad, but prefer the HDMI adapter because I get better signal without chewing up more of my wireless signal.
I'm leaving IOS7 on my pad as long as I can so I can keep enjoying my HDMI connection.
