No, I said you can use a credit card, but not a debit card. Well actually, you can use any form of payment you want, but to be recognized as an adult I'm pretty sure it needs to be a credit card.

Maybe we're talking about different issues here. Are you unable to complete even the initial setup of Family Sharing? Because in that case, you're right, you should be able to use a debit card, too.

I am getting the same message.  I even unauthorized every other device, updated the credit card and made a purchase on the device... all for naught... ARG.

You might want to check your birthday in you Apple ID account.  Go into the website where you manage Apple IDs (https://appleid.apple.com/) and log in using your Apple ID.  Click on "Password and Security,"  answer the security questions, then at the bottom, there is an area where you can check/change your birthday.

Well thank you so much. I had the same problem and couldn't understand why I kept getting the message about being an adult (which I am).  Not sure I would have found the DoB data field - it was too well hidden and not an obvious thing to check- pfffft!

Really appreciate your post and the fix! Top job.....
