Q: How can I turn off the vibration notifications when the battery is full and the phone is left on charger i.e. overnight

I charge my 5s phone at night, and about halfway through the night my phone starts to vibrate to notify me that it is done charging which is great but it constantly wakes me up as it goes on all night. is there a setting I am missing to turn this off? my wife's 5s does not do this nor does my son's

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.1.2

There is no vibration to show that the device is done charging. That is why the other phones are not doing it. This is something else that is happening to the device. Do you have it on and connected so you could be receiving mail or other notifications? When you look at the phone in the morning, are there any notifications on the lock screen? Did you receive mail, text, etc.? You will need to try and see what else may be happening here, because it is not a notification that the phone is completed charging.

The iPhone does not vibrate when it is done charging, it simply stops charging.

Whatever is happening is not due to charging.  Its either due to messages, calls, notifications or emails being received.

You can set the Do Not Disturb to stop ringings and vibrations from these types of events from activating during a specified period of time.

Use Do Not Disturb on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

No, no, no. It's not due to texts, emails, calls or vm. Mine is doing the same - vibrates & lights up when battery is full - about once per minute. ???  Blurry eyed and half awake, I reach over, unplug and it stops / I go back to sleep. Have scoured Settings (and Google) and can find nothing that addresses this...and yes, Do Not Disturb is also activated. Never happened w/ my iPhone 3 or 5. Now I have a 6 w/ IOS8, of course, and it's no joy to be woken up in middle of night. Stopped charging at night until I can figure it out, but that ***** as its when I primarily recharge. I have a global position and am essentially on call so can't turn phone off at night. I know the guy who started this thread and I cannot be the only two to which this is happening. Any help would be appreciated.  Anyone?

It's never happened to me or my family on 3 iPhones and an iPad. On any version of iOS. Over the 7 years we've had iPhones. I doubt very much that it has anything to do with charging. Do you have iCloud backups enabled? If you do and the phone prompts for your iCloud password that might be a source. Are you charging with a wall adapter or with a computer USB port? Or with a 3rd party USB adapter? Some computers and USB adapters turn off when the demand drops to zero. This would be detected by the phone and it will vibrate to alert to the disconnection. This would not happen with an Apple adapter.

My phone is doing this too and I've asked several iPhone users about it but no one had any idea what I was talking about. When searching the internet for tips on fixing the problem I stumbled across this discussion and was thankful to see I am not the only one. Many of you are sure that it is due to receiving mail, messages, or phone calls but I have stayed up to see what is going on with my phone and seen it start to light up and vibrate every 30 seconds or so as soon as the battery hits 75%. I did not have any apps running and the phone was in "Do Not Disturb" mode so why is this happening?

Yes I know. We too have had 5 iPhones collectively over the years, starting with the 3.....+ an iPad - multiple IOSs, etc. No, like Facebook, we're not fans of the Cloud. Call me weird but with all the data breaches going on....just don't need/want any more personal data stored on some server I have no control over, than I have too.    Anyhow, back to the issue. Good point on the charger. I'll try the Apple wall charger. Have been using an Anker dual port charger so maybe that's it. Will advise tomorrow. Given your assessment (L. Finch), are you coming from experience of an iPhone 6 w/ IOS8?  Or historical versions?  I'm distinctively of the belief at this moment that this is an iPhone 6 / IOS8 issue.  And like Sarahdisney444 above, I'm not alone. I'm not a noob to iPhone / Apple. Fairly tech savvy - can build a desktop from parts alone. But haven't been able to figure this out. Anyone else?

I have a 5S, and 4S, a 3GS and a 3rd generation iPad. The 3S obviously doesn't have iOS 8, but all of the others do. There are posts from people who don't have the 6 in this thread. 75% is an interesting number, because its approximately the level at which the charging circuit in the phone starts to taper off the charging rate, reducing demand on the USB source.

Okay, I've got it figured out. I've got a 3rd party-multi port USB wall charger made by Anker - that I purchased when I also got one of their portable battery back-ups.  That's the source of the issue. When I use it, my phone beeps and vibrates every 10 seconds or so once it's reached 100% full charge. When I switch to the Apple wall charger it doesn't happen.  While I had and used the exact same wall charger with my 5 w/o the same result, and given that this seems to be a relatively new phenomenon that people with 5s & 6s alike are experiencing, I'm deducing that something's changed w/ IOS8 that started causing this to happen.  ???  It appens equally when on the higher voltage (iPhone) side or lower voltage (android) side.

Problem solved. I'll just use the Apple charger at night, for sure, to get a better night sleep.

I have been using the Apple wall charger this whole time but the problem is still not resolved. Any other ideas?

Hummm. If you haven't already, try different charging methods, i.e. plug into computer vs the wall charger.  Maybe swap wall chargers AND cord with a friend and see if that does it. What's interesting about your situ is it starts @ 75% charge. Mine was only @ 100%. Be sure your IOS is fully updated - even though that may be a contributing factor in my opinion.  Be sure to post your results to help others or so others can weigh in to help you out.

I Have the same problem. I also have the same Anker dual port charger. The phone is plugged into the non Apple side. My iPad, which doesn't have the problem, is plugged into the apple side. I guess I need to give them a call...
