Q: iPhone 6 is not working for calls with uconnect?

I cleared all devices on the my uconnect and then I paired with my iPhone 6.  I was able to play music through the bluebooth.  When I make a call, I start it through the uconnect. It will search the address book, dial out, but then after the first ring, it says call completed. When in fact, the call is still active on my phone.  I also tried to start a call from my iPhone and that still did not work. The uconnect did not pick up the fact that I started a call.

I know it is not an iOS 8 issue because I was able to use my iPhone 5 with iOS 8 without issues.

I am having the same issue with an iPhone 6 and a 2014 Jeep with UConnect.  Calls initiated from the Nav screen connect but the phone stays active but the Bluetooth disconnects from the vehicle.

I had a similar issue.  I have a 2010 Volkswagen Routan (which is a Dodge Caravan/Chrysler Town & Country) with Uconnect and had an iPhone 4S updated to iOS8 and had no issues.  I got the iPhone 6 yesterday and paired with no issue.  When I tried to make a call, the radio would go silent (as it should be), but you here no rining, nor call timer indicating the call.  I was calling my daughter and I had to go to the speaker to hear her.  I read that this is an issue that is not manufacturer specific and that a large number are experiencing this (and have mentioned that their older phones with iOS8 worked fine).  Read through some solutions, and the one that I used worked for me.  What I did was delete the pairing of the iPhone 6 in the car and also the iPhone 6.  I did a hard reset of the iPhone 6 and waited until it rebooted.  Went through the pairing procedure and tried a call.  It worked!

I also been reading about dropped calls, but I have only done two calls so far using the bluetooth in the car, so I cannot comment on this.

This has to be an iPhone 6 issue since it is not iOS8 causing the problems, but the iPhone 6.

Hope this work around works for you.

I just did a reset on the network settings and repaired.  Now working and the few calls I tried were good; no disconnects anymore.  maybe a hardy ever resets the network stacks as well.

So I took your advice kind of.. What I ended up doing was I started the card and did a reset of my phone. It was connected to uconnect when I reset the phone.

After the reset, everything worked. I didn't have to repair the phone.

I have an iPhone 6+ & drive a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I, too am having the same issues & have tried all of the above with no success. I did a reset of the phone , erased from uconnect. The phone initially pairs but when you use the phone it is silent & nothing going thru vehicle speakers. After pairing the phone, it says'connected' but then a message comes up on the screen & says 'Connection Unsuccessful. Make sure uconnect is turned on & in range. OK'

Any thoughts? Spoke with Jeep & they say it's the iPhone & IOS8. I've tried over & over to connect witu no luck. Ironically my iPhone 5 on iOS 8 works fine.

I have issue also; Uconnect can't help....I've unpaired, repaired, reset iphone, all the above....appears to be  calling, but not connected to the phone; can't disconnect unless I turned bluetooth off.  When I turn it back on, now it's stuck at a calling screen on the dashboard -- but not connected to the phone.

Aft first I was getting 1 ring connect to phone then "phone call disconnected" -- but now, it's the above.  Wonder when this will get resolved.

Is it Uconnect that has to update?  Or APple?

I tried all of the above to , no luck for me either.  Jeep Patriot - but I don't think it matters.....the Uconnect just doesn't work w/the iphone 6 apparently.

I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee that had the issue described.

Although I had been able to fix this initially when running iOS 8.0 by doing a network reset, I had to restore my phone when 8.0.1 messed up my service.  After 8.0.2 installed, I again had the same issue where the call would connect, then drop the BT connection from Uconnect after the first or second ring.  Phone call was still active, but I had to switch to the phone or speakerphone to continue after Uconnect dropped the connection to the phone.

I tried all variations of Network Reset and Hard Reset of the phone, deleting the BT pairing both before and after each try.  Still had the issue.

What finally worked was to delete BT pairing on phone and Uconnect, signing out of my iCloud account, Hard Reset phone, then re-pair the phone BT w/ Uconnect.

Once I verified that the calls were now working as expected, I re-enabled iCloud on the phone and have been able to make calls as normal since.

No idea why, but Apple's support page for BT connectivity issues makes reference to signing out of iCloud.  Fortunately this worked for me.  HTH.

i couldnt connect my iphone 6 from day 1. Uconnect on Dodge Ram 1500 2012. THE ONLY thing that fixed it was deleting the pairing, turning off iCloud and then repairing. Tested calls and music sync (only features I use) and all works fine now. Turned iCloud back on and everything still working fine!!!!! Thanks treywylie!!!!

mine works to now.  I deleted the peering for my iPhone, and I did a hard reset on the phone. Deleted the pairing after you connect. I redid everything and now it works

Yup I posted this on a different thread. Sorry for the length. Bottom line, the pairing/Bluetooth profile needs to be created when the phone is not signed into iCloud. Issue appears to be the result of iCloud and IOS 8 platform..

"I have had the same issues as everyone here. I felt compelled to share my findings after some very lengthy testing.

I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee running the latest Uconnect Firmware (14.25.5). I too upgraded to iPhone 6 and quickly realized there was a Bluetooth issue so I did some testing. I used an iPhone 4S, iPhone 5S and a new iPhone 6. iPhone 4S was not upgraded to IOS and was running IOS 7.1.2. Connected this phone up to my Jeep and everything works like a charm...Upgraded to IOS 8.02 on the iPhone 4S and same problem as iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 running IOS 8.02. Music seems to stream with no issue, but making or receiving calls seems to work for about 10 seconds then quits and transfers call to phone only (no audio in Jeep and shows disconnected on Uconnect screen). Some times upon connection it shows automatically redialing last call without connecting. Next step was to revert all three phones back to 7.1.2. Once completed all worked as they should...I then installed IOS 8.0.2 on the three again (iPhone 4S, iPhone 5S and iPhone 6) and the problem quickly returned. This is definitively an IOS 8 issue. Not a phone or hardware issue. I then tried some of the different things that people have tried including "Reset All" which does work. That is until you power cycle or sync with iTunes and then the problem returns. After playing with multiple different scenarios I have found the only thing that seems to hold even after a power cycle, reboot or iTunes sync...Sign out of iCloud and power cycle the phone then re-pair your device.

This issue seems to be tied to iCloud and IOS 8 platform.

    Steps:

Delete Bluetooth profile on both the iPhone and the vehicle in question.

Sign Out of iCloud on the device you want to pair.

    Power Cycle the phone

Pair phone with vehicle...Problem solved. No issues with power cycles, iTunes sync etc...

These steps above have been tried on 4S, 5S and iPhone 6 with the same success running IOS 8.0.2

Note the problem will return if you sign back into iCloud and then power cycle, reboot or sync the phone to iTunes.

I realize some may not be able to live without iCloud services. iCloud can be used, but only after you have paired your device. Then, as long as you do not turn the phone off or sync with iTunes it will continue to work. For my Jeep this seems to work. Much easier then a "Reset All" every time. Not sure if other vehicles will have the same success? In any event, looks as though Apple has a little issue here that needs to be addressed."

Note once the profile has been created you can sign in iCloud again and all will continue to work until you power cycle the phone or sync with iTunes. I have also read on other posts that early IOS 8.1 Beta testing shows that the issue has been addressed. We'll see once it comes out at the end of the month (October)?

This link will also shed some light on the iCloud issue. Though I personally have not tried it yet..

    Thanks for the update.

I will give this a try tomorrow.  I, like everyone, has tried every every reset and any possible way to get the phone working

with uconnect. At this point, I am no longer going to do a hard reset as I seem to spend more time resetting the phone than using the phone!

Incredibly frustrating.  Note of point - also does not work with Lexus vehicles.

The best laughs I have had through all of this is that both Chrysler and Lexus service departments say 'We haven't heard of this happening.  You must be the only one!!!' Yep, along with the thousands if not millions of iphone/car owners with the same issues!  Told them to google it!

I'm having the same exact issues as everyone on this thread. I have a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and an iphone 6 and I've tried every solution possible and nothing has fixed the issue. I've gone through Uconnect support and they claim it's an issue with the phone and not their system, and I'm inclined to believe them. I've also have been on with live chat and on the the phone with Apple support, and they've confirmed that they're getting multiple reports of this issue but every solution they've given me, I've already tried and none have worked. I also use a range extender in my apartment (bad verizon signal in my neighborhood), and staying connected to that has been an issue as well. I'm hearing stories that ios 8.1 will fix the issue, but nothing confirmed from Apple.

What alarms me is; doesn't Apple realize how dangerous and unsafe a bug this is? They haven't made one official statement about this glitch. Fumbling around with your phone to get it on speakerphone from an incoming call is just as bad as texting and driving. When it first happened, I just assumed I paired it incorrectly and proceeded to try to do the normal fixes. After I realized this was a widespread problem, I consciously decided to not use my phone while my car's in motion, since I had already almost gotten myself in a couple of accidents trying to answer incoming calls.

There have been multiple news articles about this, but I find it interesting that Apple hasn't said one thing and all the Apple "shilling" sites (yeah imore.com, I'm talking about you) haven't had one single story about it. Is it going to take a car accident with fatalities to make Apple wake up and get an update out?

This is unsafe and extremely dangerous because most drivers (and I drive around NYC metro every day) are probably not as conscious about this issue as I am.

What hat do you guys think?

If you have to depend on Apple to provide a software update in order for you to safely survive a trip in a vehicle, then I imagine you have other issues. Put the phone down and drive. If bluetooth isn't working, wait until you're parked.

Anyway. Same issues here. iOS 8.0.2 and 2012 charger with uconnect. No library/USB connectivity and bluetooth is spotty. Submitted feedback to apple here:
