Oct 5, 2014 1:39 PM in response to kscableguyby Hedek,Same problem. iPhone 6+ 64GB Silver T-Mobile iOS 8.02. Sometimes the homescreen would be stuck upside down, but Safari or Messages app for example would be fine. If I take a picture from the Messages app, the picture would also be saved flipped vertically (upside down) compared to how it looked like on the screen when I took it.
I tried going twice to the Genius bar, unfortunately I am unable to reproduce it, but it happens at least once per hour. Once the problem was happening as I walked in the store, and the moment I started talking to the Genius it became fine again. Genius did a reset, didn't fix anything.

Oct 5, 2014 6:13 PM in response to Hedekby albertyouwrong,I also have this problem on my 4.7" 64gb for T-Mobile.
When I lock the phone while running Safari or Messaging in landscape, when I unlock it again it's a toss up if it'll be stuck. On top of that, sometimes only half the keyboard shows up like it's zoomed in on whatever half. It's pretty annoying because it happens multiple times a day.
In my experience, one of these actions always unsticks the orientation;
Rotate phone to the opposite landscape view (Going from the home button on the left to home button on the right).
Lock and unlocking the phone.
Double tap home button and completely close the app and reopen.
Sometimes a simple rotate will do it, while other times I have to restart the app.

Oct 5, 2014 9:02 PM in response to kscableguyby caligomez,Same problem here.. Just started happening today, and I've had my 64GB iPhone 6 since launch day.
THe most annoying part is that when I take landscape videos they get stuck sideways (when looking at them in portrait mode). Therefore, when I shared such video, it appeared to everyone sideways on their iMessages preview.
Very annoying. Most likely a software issue (as the accelerometer seems to be working just fine in other apps)

Oct 5, 2014 11:36 PM in response to kscableguyby Heckface,Same here with both iPhone 6 and iPad Air after upgrading to iOS 8. Definitely a software issue since my Air never had this issue previous to iOS 8.

Oct 6, 2014 2:32 AM in response to kscableguyby rotorbailey,Same issue. iPhone 6+ 128GB. When it happens, the only way to fix is to turn on orientation lock. But then camera still has the incorrect orientation and pictures are all rotated. Very annoying.

Oct 6, 2014 6:16 AM in response to kscableguyby berniecmills,I had a similar problem where the iPhone 6+ would not switch to landscape view on the icons view.
This might be expected behaviour but is slightly annoying.
I realised when I first switched on the phone it asked me if I wanted Standard or Zoomed view.
I choose Zoomed as it looked good. (eye are a bit rubbish these days :-) )
However started to wonder if this was disabling the screen rotation.
When I switched off Zoom this was fixed.
To switch off zoom go to: Settings, Display and Brightness.

Oct 6, 2014 11:15 AM in response to kscableguyby btaylor2211,Easiest way that I've found to fix it for the time being is to just swipe up your toggles and lock the orientation yourself. It will bring your screen right side up rather than turning it off and on.

Oct 6, 2014 7:12 PM in response to kscableguyby Ericdoc,I am on anew iphone 6 plus 64gb also with an identical problem. Seems or have something to do with the phone being in sleep or locked mode while in portrait. Once active again the screen is upside down and is unresponsive to positional changes.

Oct 7, 2014 2:07 PM in response to kscableguyby Jooooop,I had the same issue and Apple just walked me through a fix. Go to Settings>General>Accessibility and go into the "Zoom" menu. If "Follow Focus" is turned on turn it OFF.

Oct 7, 2014 2:30 PM in response to Jooooopby mterranova,Okay great, I am in standard as well, zoom off but made the change, hopefully helps thank u. I actually reset phone to factory and rebuilt instead of restoring from backup, thought that may have had something to do with it since backup was from iphone5 ios7
