    Howdy James.tm,

It sounds like a portion of your Lock Screen is zoomed in preventing you from unlocking the phone. You should be able to zoom out with the following command if the Zoom feature is the culprit here:

    Zoom - iPhone

Zoom in or out. With Zoom turned on, double-tap the screen with three fingers.

You can also manage the Zoom command when you have the phone connected with iTunes using this article:

    iOS: Configuring accessibility features

    Managing accessibility features using iTunes

    1. Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to any computer with iTunes installed.
    2. In iTunes, select your device.
    3. From the Summary pane, click Configure Universal Access in the Options section at the bottom.
    4. Select the feature you would like to use and click OK.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    Regards,

    Sterling
