Participating could be also just reading the users opinions?

Oct 7, 2014 3:53 PM in response to GregsonSby K Shaffer,And yet, the question was answered before the final bell.
Going into a full system UPGRADE is what happens,
and, that is not a simple 'update' within an older iOS.
However implemented, the results for some are not
what was expected, as the newer Photos for iOS8 is
not iPhoto for iOS7. Different animal.
Uncertain, there has been ways to extract some files
from an iPhone or iDevice that may have otherwise
been inaccessible; but after a full upgrade or wipe,
few options exist. Items already in the cloud or online
in some site, should not be directly affected by the
iOS upgrade in the iDevice, unless you access a site
and use a different software to change the content.
Home: PhotoRec and TestDisk utilities...
http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec
Some of the upgrade portions of iOS8 are likely made
to be compatible with the newer as-yet unreleased
retail version of Mac OS X to follow Mavericks.
Most answers to an upgrade include knowing that you
may be unable to go back, so you make a backup and
a plan before the up-grade. iDevices are harder to return
to a previous version than computers can with backups.
Another path could be to obtain an iPhone not at iOS8
or stock that has not been upgraded, and stay at iOS7
for as long as possible to use that instead of iOS8 so
the iPhoto for iOS7 would be supported, for a time.
As léonie says, there are specific things going on in the
upgrade path and certain items are very different.
Good luck & happy computing!

Oct 7, 2014 3:43 PM in response to KiltedTimby SteveWarren7,Hello again all, Apple administrators have removed my reply as in their opinon it contained "Rants or Complaints" I was then locked out of any coversation. There were NO rants. Maybe I used Capitals too much. Some one send me a telephone number of a direct contact in Apple, you know the kind one where a human answers the phone and take responsibility for their coversation, agian good luck to you all. Goodness I hope that is not cosidered a Rant ! Apple - pathetic.

Oct 7, 2014 3:59 PM in response to K Shafferby GregsonS,Photos in iOS 7 was not iPhoto in iOS 7
and
Photos in iOS 8 is the only working app that is available.
So what do you compare?
iPhoto under iOS (the best app for our photos) has been killed.

Oct 7, 2014 4:11 PM in response to GregsonSby K Shaffer,I'd compare low-sulfur diesel fuel to unleaded gas.
They both can be used as motor fuel in devices that
can look similar, but more than their mileage will vary.
While there is a reason for discontent when expectations
were not met by some changes that accompanied a
major version in an operating system, to not expect any
effects when the main component driving it is upgraded,
is kind of running in the dark and expecting a safe trip.
A trip is one thing, a challenge by definition, is another.

Oct 8, 2014 12:10 AM in response to K Shafferby GregsonS,So do I understand you right?
Are you trying to tell me that I should expect at least ONE app of the OS-maker is not working anymore after the update of the OS?
Which means in fact in can be every app?
Without warning?
The app that Apple stated as the best app for sharing your photos?
Without the chance to downgrade to iOS7 even if I have a backup?
Hm.

Not censoring. Just making you post within the Terms Of Use that YOU agreed to when you joined this site. You did read them before you agreed didn't you? Or do you handle all contracts that way?

Oct 11, 2014 4:25 AM in response to SteveWarren7by Peter West Tours, absolutely agree. So angry with Apple. Absolutely fuming at Apples arrogance at destroying iphoto . This was such a useful feature and I need to know the camera setting exact position and time! all available with the i feature. Apple has always been arrogant but this tops it and Apple is on the way down.
