Q: keeps asking for correct iCloud password

The past few days I've been getting this window popping up asking me to enter my iCloud password.  When I enter the correct one, it says it is incorrect and to enter the correct one.

I have not changed my iCloud password at all recently.  Could this be related by any chance to the fact I now have IOS 8 and the new Cloud Drive?  I did not elect to use the Cloud Drive as I believe I need to wait until Yosemite is installed down the road.  Any help would be appreciated

That's third-party software, not part of OS X. You should be very cautious about giving your iCloud password to such software. Do you recognize the icon? It looks like some kind of calendar application.

I do recognize the third party software icon.  It is Fantasical which I use on my iMac.  I fully trust the app as it is one of the higher rated ones on both Mac app store and IOS app store.  However, I've never had this asked of me from them or any other app.  Could this be related to the 3rd party app generated code that is needed to be used for security?  You are correct about being careful and I usually am just that.  I just assumed this was from iCloud and the icon should have alerted me otherwise...

The application is storing the password in the keychain. Launch the Keychain Access application and search for "application password" items related to your email address. Delete any you find. If that doesn't solve the problem, refer to the developer for support.

Fantastical is asking for a password because Apple are now requiring app-specific password for third-party applications to access iCloud if you have set up two-step verification (in other words you have to obtain an individual password for any non-Apple program that wants to access iCloud).

Select 'Password and Security'; click 'Generate an App-Specific Password' and follow the instructions. Once you have the password, copy it and paste it into the password field in Fantastical. You should also keep a note of it (though you can generate a new one if required)

Thanks Linc.  I actually went to the app-generated password first as suggested by the others as I had set up 2 step authentication recently.  I had completely forgotten that 3rd party apps also now need to be generated passwords for.  It seems to have solved the problem.  If there is still issues, I will take your steps to try.

How do you find which apps require this new password?
I get two boxes appearing and there is no indication to what app is making these boxes appear.

    Thanks for any help!
