Oct 12, 2014 4:35 PM in response to Star Travelerby Alibac,Alright. My iPad has been glitchy, especially when I type. I have completely restored to factory settings twice. The first time I did not set up as new iPad. The second time showed me that my iPad was not glitchy UNTIL I restored the back-up set up through Apple. Then it's glitchy. Here's what I did the second time.
1. Backed up to Apple iCloud, so I think.
2. Restored to factory settings.
3. Followed the prompts on my iPad and set it up. All glitches disappeared.
4. On my PC, I set it up as a new iPad.
5. Clicked the iCloud button on my computer, and restored my back-up.
6. It is glitchy again.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I really don't want to lose the notes I have on my iPad...something like 150 long notes.

Oct 12, 2014 4:48 PM in response to Alibacby Star Traveler,Okay, that's definitely one of the clues I said (at various times) to look for. That's a clue that the problem lies in "what is on that backup"! It gets to be more problematic at that point, because it's already demonstrated that it's not the machine or iOS 8.0.2 ... so the question becomes ... "What part of my data or collection of apps is the problem?" I hate those issues, because you already know it's not the machine and operating system (which would be easier to deal with) but if could be an infinitely variable collection of information that is the problem. I've already read where one user had Apple run some very specialized diagnostic software on his machine and they located one problem app. Once the app was removed (it was not update for iOS 8), all the problems wemt away!
It could be something like that, but you would have to get Apple to help you, because only they have that specialized diagnostic software. Ask Apple if they can run that diagnostic software for you.

Oct 13, 2014 5:15 AM in response to pacoKASby Darran_NSW,Not sure if this works for all, but I was having painfully slow internet connection speeds - which can be traced back to the day after upgrading to IOS8. Tonight I decided to reset my router from within the routers admin settings (not power reset) and instantly my speed returned to normal. Just a thought.

Oct 13, 2014 2:00 PM in response to pacoKASby Erintom,I am using an iPad2 with the newest iOS and have read a few of these posts. I did a hard re-set, turned off most notifications and deleted a few apps. It's running much better. Like many who have posted, I don't want to purchase the newest iPad since this one had been working fine. Maybe to new iOS takes too much memory and I didn't need all of those apps. Just sayin.

Oct 13, 2014 2:21 PM in response to Star Travelerby Alibac,Alright, through all of my resets I am finding that actually my iPad works perfect with everything except my notes. I have some 200 very long notes. (documents for school and stories before microsoft had an app for iPad) Maybe this is just overloading the new update, and that's why it has a glitch. It's like playing a game when too many characters come into the picture, and the game has to catch up. Hmm...

Oct 13, 2014 2:44 PM in response to Alibacby Star Traveler,Of course I don't think that absolutely everything is okay ... to the point where Apple will have no bug fixes ... of course they will have bug fixes and probably several in a row. It's a major upgrade that is mostly "under the hood". It's only natural that there will be a series of bug fixes coming. But, having said that, I also see that people can get their iPads working and functioning right, for the most part. I'm glad you've been able to get to that point, and I'm sure you'll see better things to come with the upcoming bug fixes.

Oct 13, 2014 3:17 PM in response to Star Travelerby JohnMHoyt,Hahha it appears that some of ST's posts are being banned too?
Anyway, I have seen it said that "Secondly, there are a whole lot of iPad 2 users who are not having problems, plus the ones who initially did have problems and they are now fixed ... and all of those I'm talking about are running iOS 8.0.2. What this shows is that it is technically feasible for all of them to run it just fine. And that should give entouragement to those still with their problem".
No, I beg to differ, I have FIVE iPads that are most certainly not "fixed", these are in my family. I have 4 at work, which are not "fixed". Not to mention I have a growing (not decreasing) customer base of users who are not "fixed".
We have followed every single suggestion here, every suggestion at the Genius bar, every suggestion found on every forum we could locate.
For you (ST) to say that everything is fixed, and to continue to say those that are not "fixed" are due to owners who are not smart enough to "fix" them, is an insult. You are not winning friends here if you keep spewing this information.
NOT fixed - crashes just using the built-in/included apps such as Safari/Mail - Please tell us how to FIX this...
NOT fixed - keyboard oddities - skipped letters, doubled characters, lagging - please tell us how to FIX this...
NOT fixed - copy/paste between Safari tabs - oh my Lord this is annoying, please help us fix this.
NOT fixed - overall increase in lag when opening applications. I have timed it with a stop watch to compare these 8.0.2 updated devices with a 7x iPad and it's easy to demonstrate when you have them side-by-side just how much slower on every single device, from iPad 2 to 3, to 4 to iPad mini, that the simple tasks of opening mail for the first time. - Please tell us how to fix this...
ST might be trying to indicate that many of the procedures have made these issues less of an issue, but ask anyone, and once you mention it, once you bring it to their attention, they will tell you they too are experiencing it. It's not being imagined, and people are not too stupid to try the "fixes" here, so please, don't insult them continually by saying this over and over. -

Yes many have been capable of fixing their issues. Others are not that capable or have more severe issues with their devices.
Good Luck with your 'Customer Base' of iPad2 users.
Cheers

I have an attitude problem because I want my device to work? And my family wants their devices to work? And my co-workers, and my clients?
I'm sorry that equates to an attitude problem. We just want to be able to use our devices like we could a month ago. Sadly, we are unable to do so.We can't go back - that's not supported. So we hope and pray we get solutions here, or elsewhere.
