Q: Finder Repeatedly Crashing 10.9.5

Heavily modified is a pribke  though and makes troubleshooting difficult or impossible,  for production  rule of thumb: lean mean equals stable and ideal performance. 

Extension conflicts? 

A quick test system clean install clone and then step by step careful of what is installed and only make one change before making another.

OS X can be small and backed jp to a disk images.

Great post and advice but I am unsure if I should also wipe/reinstall.

Mac Pro 2009; 32 GB RAM. Yosemite with latest updates.

4 internal hard drives.

Multiple programmes freezing repeatedly with need for hard restart. eg. Word, iTunes, or just left one.

Saw issue with Epson but I have no Epson device.

I thought it was an isolated SSD problem but now occurring on routine hard drive.

Note though that recurred with SSD wipe and reinstall but I imported all programs and dat when I did that.

Have three backups; 2 x time machine on separate disks plus one clone of current hard drive.

I have followed your instructions as per your previous post (Finder Repeatedly Crashing 10.9.5 ).

The results are below. There do not seem to be many corrupt plists but ? font issues.

Yeah nice one, thanks Carolyn. Finder was crashing 100% of the time when coming back from another application. Fixed now. To me you are a genius!

After trying numerous approaches to solving the frequent finder freezer problem I decided to just try turning on and off the applications running in the background. I turned off Google Drive and the problem was solved. Give it a try.
