Q: Can we use an iTunes voucher on one device within Family Sharing?

I have family sharing set up with my daughter.  She recently received an iTunes voucher, we added it to her account on her iPod but whenever she wants to buy anything it still sends the request to buy to me.  How can we make it so her purchases come out of the voucher for now?

    Hi Kirstyc76,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Because you have Ask to Buy enabled with your daughter's account, you will still be prompted to approve her purchase, even though she may have a gift card attached to her Apple ID.  Take a look at the information below to see how family purchases are paid for.

After you set up your family, any time a family member initiates a new purchase it will be billed directly to your account unless that family member has gift or store credit. First, their store credit will be used to pay the partial or total bill. The remainder will bill to the family organizer's card. As the family organizer, any receipts generated by the transaction will be sent to you. Learn more about how iTunes Store purchases are billed.
