Q: Trying to place a phone call over Yosemite opens MS Lync instead

Hello when I try to place a call from Yosemite, it tries to place a call over Lync. When I delete Lync from Applications folder, on the 1st attempt to call fails and I see a dialog box that says Lync is deleted. On subsequent tries to place a call succeeds. Bringing back Lync from trash to Applications folder breaks the phone call feature again...

Please help...

Launch your FaceTime app on your Mac and go to Preferences. There is a new pull down called "Default for calls:", click on that and choose FaceTime.

I have the same issue and tried setting FaceTime as default for all calls under FaceTime preferences and under lync preferences set face time for phone calls but it still opened lync when ever I try to place a call from mac
