Oct 16, 2014 1:17 PM in response to NolNoctTamby Lawrence Finch,Not a very sensible thing to do. If you don't have a passcode you will see no end of problems that could actually cost you money when your phone is lost or stolen, as it makes all of your secrets, bank accounts, photos, personal information available to whoever finds your phone.

Oct 16, 2014 1:55 PM in response to sleepyashby Meg St._Clair,With Touch ID, that fact that you even have a passcode it practically unnoticeable. Witness all those folks who think they've discovered some sort of security hole because they can access their phone without unlocking it. They don't even realize they've used Touch ID. I've got both thumbs and both forefingers registered. It's very rare that one picks up an iPhone and doesn't touch the Home button.

Oct 16, 2014 10:25 PM in response to Lawrence Finchby Galdayum, that still should be up to my discretion. If i dont store anything I consider valuable in the first place, i shouldn't have to have a passcode.
I want touch id only for my iTunes purchases. Its inconvenient to have to enter it every time i buy something...but I dont want a passcode on my phone.
Lots of people use my phone at home (for various reasons) and i hate having to tell people the password every time someone new wants too look through it (for example, a dinner party i was at the other day, and everyone wanted to check out my new iPhone 6).
oh well. Its as first world as a problem gets, but within the scope of the apple universe/ecosystem, it irks me when i dont have the option to remove an annoyance.....i love just swiping the screen and immediately clicking on whatever app i need rather than waste 2 seconds positioning my thumb and wait for it to unlock. like i said, first world problem, but 2 seconds is a pain in the *** in my high speed tech world...and i hate myself just having to re-read what i just wrote

Oct 17, 2014 4:55 AM in response to Galdayumby Meg St._Clair,If it's taking 2 seconds for your phone to unlock with Touch ID, I'd say there's something wrong. It takes me less time (and fine motor skills) to use Touch ID than to swipe. Of course, that doesn't answer the issue of letting other people use the phone. In the dinner party situation, I would have just changed the time to auto-lock if I'd been willing to let everyone look at my phone. I am about as likely to pass my phone around at a dinner party as I am to pass around my wallet, though.
Use the feedback link noted above to submit your feedback to Apple. The more people who submit feedback the more likely they are to make changes.
Best of luck.

This is completely false. I frequently access my phone through a notification which requires a passcode.
