Q: Share button in Yosemite Safari not working, showing "No Service"

Screen Shot 1393-07-25 at 18.41.53.png

After upgrading to Yosemite, the share button in Safari does not show any options. It shows only a "No Service" message. Has any one else have such a problem? Do you have any suggestions? It is a personal mac book pro at home.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10)

I'm having the same issue.  I think it may also be related to an issue I'm having with the Social Notification Center Widget.  It's completely blank though I have it turned on.  In edit view it has "No Social Accounts" listed under it.

    How interesting dsalmon9

I also have exactly the same issue. More over, I don't have any other widgets available in the Edit section of the notification center besides that Social notification, which, as you mentione, does not work properly.

I had the same problem with a Safari window that was open before the update. Relaunching Safari-- "No Services". Restarting MacBook Air-- "No Services". To respond to this thread, I opened a new tab, showed the sidebar so that I could remember what the "Reading List" was called, and . . . magically all the services are back. So I am not sure what was the problem or what step sorted it out.

With regard to the missing widget issue, I had that also but I found a fix.  It's not crazy complicated but it takes digging into some System Folders.  Here's the discusion I found about it.

How to get widgets in OS X notification center?

Did you update your machine through the Beta Program as I did?  I'm wondering if this stuff is happening to people who did the update for the first time yesterday or is it just beta users.

NO I did not upgrade from beta. Thanks for the notification tip.

It looks like it's affecting both public beta folks and first time installers too.  This is going to have to get fixed in an update or something.  It's a pretty basic functionality that's not working.

I went and checked after your post and it's not working for me either...same "No Service" message.  Whatever folder that information is supposed to be in must be empty as no program seems to be able to find it...or the folder isn't there altogether.

I had the same issue.  No Services on Share from Safari, notification widgets not there.  I created a new user account and everything worked in the new account.  I copied all of my important files over to my new user account and deleted the old account once I had everything I needed.

I had this problem, and no widgets in the notifications center. Even called Apple. No help. Logging into Guest user showed sharing services and notifications widgets. What gave? After scheduling a followup with Apple on Monday, I decided to reboot my computer. Now I have all sharing services and notifications widgets.

I'm not going to pretend this will fix all your problems, but you might want to give it a shot. Sometimes OS X and iOS need to be rebooted directly after install to reinitialize new settings and configs. Anyway, my 2¢.

I tried that initially but I had no luck with it unfortunately. I'm thinking about trying the new user account thing.

I also checked another account on my macbook. The widgets and sharing options were there with no problem. I did not upgrade from Beta, so it must not be related to it. I upgraded from Mavericks.
