Nov 21, 2014 2:08 AM in response to AlastairStokellby helenkaneu,After using the gilsonmelo solution, I had to first completely restore the firmware. So not only reset to factory settings, but wipe the iPad SW and reinstall. I had my iTunes crash on my PC when doping this. I panicked and forgot the easiest thing in the world: reboot PC... Used a colleagues PC. It took a super long time to even get iTunes let me do anything else. Then everything worked. I reinstalled the backup from itunes and the code was gone. Funnily, a few minutes later I remembered the code... just for fun I reinstalled my iCloud backup (with the code) and tried it. It was the right one :-) LOL

Nov 27, 2014 7:41 AM in response to gilsonmeloby lavaomg,Hi all... I had this problem too on my wife's mini iPad and here is how I managed to fix it.
After some trial and error, I did the get plist editing solution using iBackupBot tool available at http://www.icopybot.com/itunes-backup-manager.htm. A couple notes:
My backup contained two plists named Library/Preferences/com.apple.springboard.plist when I opened it in iBackupBot. (For ease in finding them, iBackupBot lets you click on the Path header to sort the files.) The second instance already contained
<key>SBParentalControlsBlockTimeIntervalSinceReferenceDate</key>
<real>362258969.244102</real>
<key>SBParentalControlsEnabled</key>
<true/>
<key>SBParentalControlsFailedAttempts</key>
<integer>9</integer>
<key>SBParentalControlsMCContentRestrictions</key>
<dict>
<key>countryCode</key>
<string>us</string>
</dict>
I made the highlighted changes below:
<key>SBParentalControlsBlockTimeIntervalSinceReferenceDate</key>
<real>362258969.244102</real>
<key>SBParentalControlsEnabled</key>
<false/>
<key>SBParentalControlsFailedAttempts</key>
<integer>0</integer>
<key>SBParentalControlsMCContentRestrictions</key>
<dict>
<key>countryCode</key>
<string>us</string>
</dict>
<key>SBParentalControlsPIN</key>
<string>1234</string>
I found that the only way I could make these changes actually transfer to my iPad during restore was to connect my phone to iTunes and wait for it to backup and sync. Then, while still connected to iTunes, I used iBackupBot to edit the backup file. WITHOUT ejecting my iPad, I then started the restore process based on the most recent backup. After the restore, I was able to use the above password (1234) to unlock my restrictions again. Hope this helps.
This worked fabulously well.

Nov 28, 2014 9:05 AM in response to lavaomgby Adamr5ts,I can confirm as well that gilsonmelo's fix above still works even with iOS 8.1.1 (not sure if the firmware is relevant in this case). Was able to remove that darn restrictions passcode on my 4S without wiping my phone using iBackupBot and making those edits in that plist file. I read somewhere that someone said not to restore in iBackupBot but in iTunes. I can confirm that as well as when I tried to restore in iBackupBot I just got an error. So I did it through iTunes with the most recent backup that I did just prior to making the edits in iBackupBot and it worked great!

Dec 7, 2014 10:30 PM in response to gumCoreby Larry Andrick,Have to agree that the 4Derson method worked very easily, and seems the least painful. Just to be crystal clear to readers: you do NOT have to edit and restore any files using this method. (Can confirm that still works as of 8.1.1.) Just to try to make it even clearer: Download and open iBackUpBot, for free. For me, upon opening, it automatically found the backup I'd just done, so I didn't even need to do another backup. Follow the 4Derson/gumCore instructions, and it just gives you your code...you're done!

Jan 5, 2015 8:20 PM in response to Richs79by Willinatorcan,I just got an I-phone 5 a few months back and decided to sale my I-phone 4 and the same thing happened to me. I just did exactly what
StephRi0s said to do. Which was logged into the cloud, and connected my old device to my wi-fi, turned on "find my i-phone, oh and don't forget to turn on your "location services". Just to be cautious and avoid any issues with my current phone I temporarily turned off my i-phone 5. and was able to find and completely erase my i-phone 4 from the cloud. Worked perfectly! : ) As the sitting around waiting for 60 minutes to try a different password and rule out possible pass-codes was getting very frustrating. Wish I had found this thread earlier!! Thx
Here is the post I referenced.

Re: iOS 7 forgot restrictions passcode in response to Richs79I did this also.
think i found a solution but you must know your apple ID and PW.
1. sign into icloud.com
2. once you are signed in click on "find my iphone" tab
3. click "all devices" on top of the page
4. click on the device you lost your passcode to.
5. once you do a couple of choices will come up "play sound" "lost mode" and "erase iphone"
click on the erase iphone. and it will begin to whip out your iphone.
6. once i was done i connected it back into my itunes and restored from my last backup. i was then
able to get into my phone and reset my passcode. :-)
hope this helps. i was so lost i thought i messed up big time lol.

Feb 5, 2015 10:48 AM in response to gilsonmeloby Nigeltlegend,gilsonmelo suggestion worked perfectly. Many thanks.
Would add that after restore still has to wait for the "try again" timer to run down.
Also when using the ibackup bot you can search for the correct file - saved a lot of time. The one needed is the one with the largest file size.
Thanks again

Feb 8, 2015 8:44 AM in response to kipatoby Nisrock,The only possible solution i could come up with for fixing the, "No Sim Card Installed" message and I find myself locked out by another bug. Same problem same story, I went in to settings >restrictions and it required my pass code. I figured no problem and typed it in and to my disbelief i am now currently restoring my iPad. Get with it Apple!
