Oct 16, 2014 5:27 PM in response to Ricky-blenderby Demo,You do need to have n Apple ID and password which you obviously have or you would not be participating on this site. If you have ever downloaded any apps. at all, you should be able to download those apps.
IF you are leaving out important information, such as the information that I am referring to, it makes it really difficult to help you. Are you saying that you have never been able to download apps?

Oct 17, 2014 11:01 AM in response to Ricky-blenderby Ricky-blender,I have never been able to download any app from store yet!
i'd like to begin to use it but I need a min of free app to start using the IPAD
and do something usefull with it
I'm more an MS PC user then an Apple user and this Apple ID is still very difficult to understand
I like simple username and PW !
yesterday night I had to update to IOS 8.0.2
so that took a long time over 1 hour and more
what is the size of these update ?
I tried the method in the given link and I was able to go the apple app page
then I tried to download the first free app but then again it is asking me the apple id
so here I guess this is the same long apple ID I use to get on this forum ?
I mean why is it asking again the apple ID I mean I'm already log in with that ID ?
My Apple ID is a long one and I must say that entering one letter / digit at a time is not a gift
on and IPAD
sorry I'm use to work on a desktop PC
it takes time to get use to this virtual keyboard!
Sorry : English is not my first language
thanks for any feedback

An Apple ID is like a username and you have a password or you would not have been able to log in and post here.
You might want to start by reading the iPad User Guide. Basic usability is covered there and I think you will save yourself lots of time and frustration: http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1595/en_US/ipad_user_guide.pdf

Oct 17, 2014 3:53 PM in response to Ricky-blenderby Alfred DeRose,Sure, but that's not at all safe.

Oct 17, 2014 5:14 PM in response to Ricky-blenderby Ricky-blender,I'm not using sync with I tune or other
and don't plan to use it anyway!
so is it still unsafe ?
cause my Apple ID is very long and takes time to enter
if there is a way to copy and paste from note file to other app!
thanks
-
Oct 17, 2014 5:27 PM in response to Ricky-blenderby Demo,Yes. You can type your Apple ID and password in the Notes app and then copy and paste from the notes app to wherever you need to use the ID and password. But like Alfred said, that's not a very secure way of doing things. If somebody gets their hands on your iPad, they might find your ID and passowrd and they could use it to do whatever they want to with it.
There are password manager apps that allow you to store your passwords. Of course, you then need a password in orde to launch the app, but is a much better and secure way of keeping your passwords handy on the iPad. I have an app called 1Key to manage passwords, credit card numbers and other sensitive information.

Oct 17, 2014 5:50 PM in response to Ricky-blenderby Alfred DeRose,I really think you are making this far more complicated than it needs to be. Why don't you use a shorter (but still complex) password?
-
Oct 17, 2014 6:38 PM in response to Ricky-blenderby Ricky-blender,I will see if I can change this long ID to a shorter one
and also check if there is a free app for password
might be safer anyway
tomorrow I will try to get my first app
can you explain how to copy and paste form one note to other app!
is it like Ctrl-C Ctrl-V may be
thanks for feedback

Oct 17, 2014 6:47 PM in response to Ricky-blenderby Alfred DeRose,Seriously, read the iPad User Guide I posted a link to. Copy and paste is covered along with answers to many other questions you may have.
