WirelessYou will be billed nothing, but if you do not provide the credit card info, you will receive nothing.

Oct 17, 2014 8:22 PM in response to Bob Timmonsby the_deception_of_billing,That doesn't sound likely. They won't ask for billing info unless they will bill something. Being 'free' would not require credit card info.

If you think that Apple are trying to cheat you don't download Yosemite, there will be no need to hand over your credit card details for that.

Oct 18, 2014 2:49 AM in response to Csound1by Springbk,I think what has happened to you is that the iTunes upgrade was installed first and that ask's you to update your CC details. This happened to me but I did not update my CC details I left them as they were and I was able to upgrade to Yosemite.

Oct 23, 2014 1:10 AM in response to Springbkby DiverDoug70,So what about if someone doesn't have a credit card ? Does that mean that you can't actually upgrade or download any "free apps"?

Try paying attention to what is written before you reply. I have no issues with CC details or iTunes upgrades.
If you wish to help people (a laudable aim) read what they say first.

Just select "None" as the type of card, enter your address, and proceed to download.

Oct 23, 2014 5:49 AM in response to SlimBobby nigelgreenlee,Concurring with SlimBob on this one. None is one of the choices. Apple are not tricking you into paying, no money is changing hands to get Yosemite.
