Q: Windows- bootcamp won't start after installing OSX Yosemite

Hello

 

I installed Yosemite today and now bootcamp doesn't work.

 

At first I restarted, alt, nothing but mac. I got around this and now windows option does show but i get a black screen with "Missing Operating System"

 

Please help !

    How did you get around it to get it to show, I have the same issue.

    Yosemite upgrade has more than likely changed the partitions (especially Recovery) and this will cause problems.

     

    I suggest starting a separate thread and posting the the output (using OS X Terminal)  of

     

    diskutil list

    diskutil cs list

    sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0

    sudo fdisk /dev/disk0

     

    Enter you password when prompted.

    Do you mean

     

    1) open osx terminal and

    2) type "diskutil list" (minus quotes) and then copy+paste what comes up?

    3) repeat step 2 for all of the above?

    Yes, this was done correctly.

     

    Instead of repeating the steps that you need, can you look at "Missing Operating system_ " After installing Yosemite and start the Testdisk discovery process.

     

    You are missing about 30+ GB which is the gap between GPT#3 and GPT#4 in your GPT output.
