Oct 18, 2014 11:52 PM in response to edygobtyDrE4by Roger Wilmut1,If you are running Snow Leopard and don't have a copy of Appleworks, you can open AppleWorks word processing files in LibreOffice (free). You should convert it to something else such as .doc or .rtf if you want to send it, as few people can open these files directly.
(Note that the current version of LibreOffice, 4.3, will be retired next April and its successor will not run on Snow Leopard.)
If you do have a copy of Appleworks and you can't open the file, make sure the extension .cwk is appended to the filename.
