Q: Yosemite installation freezes and will not complete the install. Has been installing for over eight hours.

the progress bar on the Yosemite installation is stuck about a third in. Has not moved for eight hours. This is a brand new computer. Has any one had this problem. I can't contact Apple online support as they need a serial number. I can't get the serial number because my computer doesn't work now!
