May 8, 2014 11:56 AM in response to PvTby Manic_Moov,Somehow PvT's solution not only cured my right click issue, but it also fixed another problem I had with Safari's "Top Sites" feature. Until I carried out the steps to re-enable my right click, the pages on my "Top Sites" would not open when I clicked on them.
Go figure???

Jun 15, 2014 1:25 PM in response to laulau_kcby DougPod,And here it is, three months after I posted my solution - and I'm once again having to re-install the OS because my right-click isn't working. Again. This is beyond ridiculous, Apple. Get your act together.

Jun 15, 2014 2:43 PM in response to DougPodby DougPod,Update: I downloaded the OS file, but in the meantime did some more digging.
Found another solution: delete the com.apple.Bluetooh.plist files in ~Library/Preferences (I moved mine to the desktop).
Rebooted. The plist files were recreated and my Magic Mouse secondary click was functioning again. Apple still needs to look into this. I was surprised it wasn't fixed in the lastest update. Maybe the Yosemite OS in the fall will fix this. Hope so.

Oct 13, 2014 4:24 PM in response to DougPodby dragonflyphoto,This method is what ultimately wound up working for me. An OS upgrade could also do the trick but seems a bit excessive when the problem is a single file and who wants to wait until the next update when blowing away and recreating a single file fixes the issue. :-) Thanks for posting this, DougPod.

Oct 19, 2014 12:40 PM in response to laulau_kcby sathish_rao,As many have rightly pointed out, turning off the mouse & turning it back on should resolve the reported 'Right Click not working' issue. It worked for me.

Oct 28, 2014 6:41 AM in response to laulau_kcby badpoet99,Now there's a bug in Yosemite, it seems. Latency, can't resize windows with the mouse, if I drag a file from one window to another I have to do so suuuuuuuper slowly, gotta left click 2-3 times to get a response, right click works 1% of the time.
My workaround at the moment is using iPhone or iPad as a mouse, but this is killing me as a freelance editor. Hope the bug fix comes soon, Apple.

Nov 16, 2014 12:36 PM in response to laulau_kcby ΙΚΑΡΟΣ,I have the same problem since before the coming of Yosemity, almost 2 months now. I've tried everything and the problem remains (some times it was solver for a short period of time from a couple of minutes to a couple of days). But in the end it was always coming back. The only solution for me that worked even for a brief time was deleting the bluetooth.plist files but with no big luck. At some point i found out that another application was affecting this (Disk Doctor) which as soon as i uninstalled it the problem was fixed for a couple of days (the most time i 've managed) but in the end the problem came back and now nothing seems to work.
I just HATE these stupid and easy to be fixed problems, that noone does anything for them. Come on Apple! Your customers have a problem here.

Dec 2, 2014 5:54 AM in response to laulau_kcby dagger7373,I have the same problem. Restarting the mouse solves it for a few hours or days, then it comes back. Frustrating because it steal my time and breaks my workflow. I will probably buy another mouse just to avoid this magic mouse mess.

Jan 28, 2015 4:20 AM in response to DougPodby NoNewz,Hi, This solved my issue too and should be posted as solution for this thread. I've just upgraded my MBP 2011 with an SSD drive and made a restore from time capsule, the entire OS (10.10.1) and apps worked fine except for the right click issue discussed in this thread. I tried PRAM reset, remove the battery of the mouse, re-pairing the the mouse, toggled the preference settings on and off nothing worked.
I then deleted the com.apple.Bluetooh.plist files in ~Library/Preferences and after a reboot, my mouse was back with all the features and accuracy like on the first day.
For everyone else reading this thread make sure to backup the file before deleting, just in case.
Thank you DougPod!

I tried function (ctrl + Left/Right click) on the desktop and then went back to the mouse setting and selected my preferred choice.

Jun 19, 2015 6:53 AM in response to laulau_kcby jcollert,This happened to me too, but I will have to admit that there was a power failure yesterday and I had to turn my Mac back on and that is when I found the right click button not working. I did what PvT suggested and it has been working great since. So, perhaps a abnormal shutdown or something similar was to blame this time. Only time will tell.
