Oct 8, 2014 9:59 AM in response to Mryan5281by Mryan5281,So, mine definitely had something to do with changing my Apple ID password, as suspected. But I still had to go back to a message thread and individually delete all of the text messages that were sent once my password was updated. Once I got to the last message that was sent as an imessage before changing my password the send button magically turned to blue from green. Not sure why that happens, but sure is annoying. By the looks of these threads i will definitely not be updating to iOS 8.

Oct 8, 2014 10:11 AM in response to joefromashevilleby TrendyRader,na thats the only problem i had other then thinking i lost everything from work but all i had to do was reinstall the apps and everything was still in them including pictures emails exc.. ios 8 is actually pretty great once you do it though you will have to follow those steps that i wrote down but after that everything will be back to normal no more erasing messages to send send group messages i had a group message from before i upgraded and was able to send and receive text on it with out a problem but had to do the steps above before i could even send any kind of message though. As far as bugs go with it haven't had none yet and it only took me about 20 min to fix the only problem i did have.If you do decide to do it don't freight if you had things in other apps just re download them and everything will be were its supposed to be.Hope this helps everyone that does switch its way better then 7 features for voice are updated as well as messaging capabilities. If anyone does have any other problems feel free to send me a message and ill get back to it as soon as i can. Thanks

Oct 8, 2014 7:41 PM in response to joefromashevilleby nursenikki,I actually seem to be having a different problem.. I'm able to send an imessage but sometimes I'm told that my message is being sent via my email address instead of my phone number, but as soon as I delete the message from my messages and create a new one, it will send from my phone nimber, then again at random I will be told that my message is being sent from my email, anyone else having this problem? also. my email is not selected to create new conversations. Help!

Oct 17, 2014 9:46 AM in response to joefromashevilleby 5BLogan,Does anyone know why the email notifications won't work on 5s OS 8 ? I've tried obvious fixes. Also Remember when you could double click on the home button and be able to close open apps that scrolled down on the bottom? Any way to do that on 8, I'd like for them to NOT be open all the time.

Oct 17, 2014 9:19 PM in response to nursenikkiby 4part,I'm having the same issue. Sometimes my iMessages come from my phone and sometimes from my email. I tried to uncheck the receive iMessages at my email address, but then I had a sender respond to the thread that had come from my email and I (of course) didn't get it, and they got no notification that it was never received...they think I got it, and I never did, and of course never knew anything was sent. I have done all sorts of resets and followed a lot of the steps offered and can't get rid of the problem.

Oct 18, 2014 10:30 AM in response to 4partby sfax2011,Still no solution for this which is incredibly annoying. I don't even have the time to delete every conversation so this issue keeps reoccurring every time a new person or new combination of people is involved (and I shouldnt have to delete every conversation to fix an issue caused by Apple's ineptitude)
And what's happened to delete a single message or selection of messages? Now I can only delete the whole conversation. Handy as if you don't delete the whole conversation, iMessage will never work for it

Oct 18, 2014 2:21 PM in response to TrendyRaderby Hanuman Hoffman,I too experienced sms messaging. Did a hard power down with home button/power.
It came back to iMessage right away without resetting network.

Oct 18, 2014 3:24 PM in response to Hanuman Hoffmanby sfax2011,Thanks to HH above. I'm certain I've already tried a hard reset but maybe that was on 8.0.0 or maybe you need multiple hard resets, because I've just done another hard reset and magically I could send an iMessage on a conversation that started pre iOS 8. I watched it hang on send a minute before resetting when trying to send a new iMessage (with send as SMS switched off). Joy

Oct 20, 2014 6:28 AM in response to joefromashevilleby mareque,I had a similar problem in that though I could receive texts, I could no longer send to the group as iMessage or SMS.
I fixed the problem by going into "details" under the conversation and found that only one person was listed in the contacts. I added the other two people that had been part of the conversation and it sent the text message.
