Oct 20, 2014 12:20 PM in response to Jo2708by Trevor Craig,FInally, this long running issue has been solved for me with the iOS8.1 update!!
I reset my BT Homehub 5 back to it's default settings rather than running with two separate bands and my iPad Air has been performing perfectly for the past hour.

Oct 20, 2014 12:38 PM in response to Trevor Craigby J & E,Trevor, without wanting to to tempt fate, I think it has worked for me as well with the BT home hub. I've been using streaming services for the last couple of hours such as Amazon and Netflix and it's not cutting out consistently.
we shall see.

Oct 20, 2014 12:51 PM in response to J & Eby LotusPilot,A considerable improvement over 8.0.3, but alas, 8.1 doesn't appear to be a full fix. I've tried continuos HD streaming using 802.11a/n 5GHz; after some time, the network connection still hangs. Reverting to 802.11b/gn on 2.4 GHz resolves the network connection.
One full reset later, I'm still monitoring.

Oct 20, 2014 8:38 PM in response to NikChby etomcat,I have same issue - iPad Air, iOS 8.0.2 will connect to 5.0GHz ac WiFi, but no network traffic. Using 2.4GHz works better.
The update to 8.1 didn't fix the issue at all... Still connects and no network traffic....
Would full reset help in this situation?

Oct 20, 2014 9:37 PM in response to yosh8585by etomcat,Weird. I did try first "forgot" network and re-added it again and it did not work
Now did Renew Lease and looks like it is working (at least for now anyway...) Hope the fix is permanent....
Thank you, yosh8585.

Oct 21, 2014 3:51 AM in response to NikChby woTToEnO3ZVMheUayQbb,The 8.1 update seems to have fixed it for my iPad Air. Since yesterday it's running rock-solid and fast at 5 GHz. On 8.0.2 it would have dropped out multiple times since then. Still too early to consider it fixed but so far so good.
In the release notes they stated they fixed WiFi connection for some basestations. Maybe I'm lucky and my router is among those fixed (TC7200).

Oct 21, 2014 4:55 AM in response to NikChby hrplan,After over a month of these issues being reported, is there no real fix for the intermittent wifi connectivity on 5 ghz networks? I see the work around to change the signal, but would rather it work across all bandwidths. There are many times that you cannot change router broadcast settings.
Thanks for your help.
