Q: Word default page size as A4

Hello,

I have set the  Word 2011 default page size as A4 on my iMac and whenever I create a new document is does on A4 size and it print fine. However, when I download documents from my email and open them in word for Mac, then their page size always defaults as US Letter and when I print this document it always trouble (sometime print only on one side, printer shows error). It will be good if downloaded documents also open in A4 size page setting. My printer default setting was A4.

Thanks.

Where you have your settings in Word has no effect on how someone else created and saved a document. It's going to open according to the settings it was created with.

    Hi,

    This is the answer

Changing the default from US Letter to A4

Word's idea of what should be the default paper size is defined in the Normal template.

Go to Format > Document, and press the Page Setup... button.

Set the paper size to A4, then press OK.

Press the Default... button, answer Yes to the dialog box, then press OK.

Sorry, not the answer. As I stated above, it makes no difference where your settings are. A document created with a different page size is going to open that way every time.
