Oct 21, 2014 1:27 PM in response to rjboklemanby Darklykoz,Not it did not... Windows had nothing of the like...
Translucency and trasnparency is completely different and the look is completely different...
Also it wasnt discontinued because of performance issues it was discontinued because in windows it looked terrible
In 2014 we have very little limitation in a little translucency... Unless your machine is older than 2008 i would say.. and that would be time to upgrade hardware or downgrade software..
Windows vista uses much less resources than Windows 7/8 that is a FACT... You are just talking rubish now.

Oct 21, 2014 1:29 PM in response to Darklykozby oalberti,Translucent effect and this particoular Font used by Apple for thi new OS is extraordinary if you use a Mac with Retina display probably.
With this iMac i can see only a poor Font. Ubuntu is the same things and this OSX in fact it's free how Ubuntu is.

System PReferences -> Accesibility-> Display -> (tick) reduce trasnparency...

With iMac mid 2011 this option is not supported
AirDrop with my iMac and iPhone5 is not supported

Apple's new policy for the approval of new featerus only on new idevice is terrifying

Oct 21, 2014 2:23 PM in response to oalbertiby Darklykoz,Well considering I use an android phone those features arent much use to me anyways either..
I still like the feel of yosemite personally.
You may have to just buy some peripherals.. Apple is working in sorting out the older machines too... Main reason it might not work is lack of bluetooth etc...
It was an unforeseeable event.. But they got your back.. They are working at supporting older desktops without complete feature sets...
Fact of the matter as functionalities improve, they often require newer technologies, or even technologies they did not consider they would need a year ago..
It happens... And we lose some features i guess sometimes...
But they are working on getting everything as compatible as possible.

Oct 21, 2014 2:26 PM in response to oalbertiby Darklykoz,I edited my post and there is links i gave above...
These are 3rd party websites... So always be weary of inaccuracies... (I have been disappointed before from information from tech sites)...
However the fact is they got that information from somewhere more reliable (hopefully) than our current knowledge base... So lets see what happens...

Oct 21, 2014 2:30 PM in response to Darklykozby oalberti,Thanks
...but no hope for ipad 3 i think... have yuo idea ?

Oct 21, 2014 2:41 PM in response to oalbertiby Darklykoz,No idea... . Also would be be impractical carrying a peripheral for such a device, if its lacking some features...
Phones and tablets have a much higher replacement rate than PC's tho... You could hold a PC for upto 10 years (albeit without latest software/features)... Same cant be said with tablets/phones.
In fact I personally would never buy an ipad.
The iphone6 plus is looking like an intriguing buy for me.. (bendgate aside)..
I dont like the idea of having 3 devices... I.e. management keeping in order updates, not having newer versions of devices...
But thats just a personal choice.

Oct 21, 2014 5:05 PM in response to Master26Aby NeoNirvana,If you use your Mac for creative things like digital painting, especially with Photoshop CS6, don't do it. PSCS6 was perfect on Mavericks, now it's almost un-usable. A simple zoom or change of brush immediately summons the pinwheel, and takes at least a whole minute to catch up to the last command. I've tried to reinstall it, and it seems Yosemite doesn't support the installation of CS6 either. Seeing as how I'm a concept artist, this is a bit of an issue, since I can't do my work at home now.

Oct 21, 2014 5:10 PM in response to oalbertiby MrHoagie,I don't have an issue with the "flat" look, I actually kind of like it. - especially the Helvetica fonts in the menu & all over the OS.
It's how the computer performs, that's what absolutely stinks. The "Handoff" feature would have been cool, AirDrop especially..I admit I didn't know I had to have the correct bluetooth, apparently what I have is considered "old." Afew posts back, Apple 'might consider' making this compatiable with older systems...hopefully. Handoff, I may or may not use, but AirDrop I would love.
Right now all I care about is Apple getting the "most advanced OS," to act normal. Bring my Mac back to a a computer that lost a huge sense of enjoyment when I upgraded.
I have work to do right now that has to get done..still at 8pm. When I'm finished and if I'm not too exhausted later...I'm reverting back to Mavericks, I just can't wait, nor have the patience after today until Apple creates a total fix for 10.10.
