On the new iMac launch iTunes.
From the iTunes menu bar click Store > Authorize This Computer
For your iTunes purchases ...
Connect the iPod.
From the menu bar again, click File > Transfer Purchases From ..
For non iTunes purchases you may need a utility.
It's a really handy way to transfer music from iPod to Computer.

First, you hsould know that you can't transfer iPod music to computer directly. Because the music files is designed from computer to iPod one-way. Now all you need is an appropriate iPod Transfer.
