I have got it to work.
1) Uninstall 3.1
2) Restart computer then delete the Internet Services Folder in C:/Program Files/Common Files/Apple or for 64bit C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Apple
3) Install 4.0 When you start iTunes it will ask for location of Libary which is in your Music/itunes folder.

I Cloud 3 was working fine....removed that to see if I could then install 4....no go.
Also had similar issue upgrading to Itunes 12......crashed on install, but after removing 11 was able to install.
Seems like this bug has been floating around for the last 3 weeks or better......come on Apple!

Oct 22, 2014 10:58 AM in response to jimfromedmondby dmagett,I had the same problem with win 7 pro 64. Here is what I did to fix.
I had to uninstall icloud 3. I use Revo Uninstaller Pro. It not only uses the windows uninstaller but also scans registry and file to remove all of it.
I then installed icloud 4 and it worked perfectly. I also had to set up the new itunes 12 again.
All is working fine now.

Oct 22, 2014 11:39 AM in response to dmagettby Freddy Hooge,Done that, also win 7 pro 64.
Uninstall with Revo uninstaller ( not pro version )
Als used ccleaner and uninstalled all apple software with revo.
After that also deleted the apple directory from program files x86
Rebooted th PC 2 times, still cant install any version....
What is next ?

Oct 22, 2014 3:49 PM in response to Freddy Hoogeby dmagett,Revo uninstaller (not pro) does not clean all files. I found that out before I purchased the Pro version.
You probably have some files left causing the problem.

Oct 23, 2014 6:10 PM in response to dmagettby cec57,I used IObit Uninstaller V4 to uninstall icloud 3 and it worked for me. icloud 4 is all up and runnung now :-)

Oct 29, 2014 9:23 AM in response to cec57by TetsuMac,I got a bit rough with it, on a spare computer rather than my main machine, in case I really broke something...
After having unsuccessfully tried to compress the contents of the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services folder & failing,
I trashed the whole folder, had IOBit Uninstaller v4 remove as much as it could, then ran the iCloud64.msi from the download location.
This, of course, errored with "Account already exists" & backed out the install. Why would it be so simple?
Having no option any more to logout, as I'd completely broken iCloud 3 by my fumblings, I tried the iCloud64.msi again... this time I ended the process from Task Manager at the error, instead of letting it roll back - joy & tribulation - it worked.

Nov 1, 2014 3:21 PM in response to trevor.asher@btinternet.comby r2thebizel,Fantastic find! Thank you, fixed it for me too!
Just as a point, 64-bit machines will have two "Internet Services" folders in the directory, as stated above - you only need to delete the "Internet Services" folder in the x86 directory, not the 32-bit folder version. Also, I had to end the two iCloud related services running through Task Manager ("Apple IE DAV" and "iCloud") before it would let me delete - just in case anyone else runs in to these problems.

Nov 2, 2014 2:15 AM in response to r2thebizelby Freddy Hooge,Still nothing works here....
Ik tryed io bit ununstaller, but there is no icloud or any apple programm to uninstal anymore.
Als tryed to instal icloud in safetymode, but it even doesnt get started.
If i run icloud setup in normal mode, it installs apple softwareupdater but not icloud itself.
Anyone any idea ?

Nov 6, 2014 8:48 PM in response to dmagettby Bret.in.CO,This worked perfectly for me. Since I had already deleted the earlier version of iCloud using the normal control panel uninstall, it didn't show up on Revo. But, the old version of iCloud was still running (autostart) and visible in the start menu. So, I was able to use the "Traced Programs" tab on Revo Pro entering iCloud for the name, and the path provided from opening properties on the iCloud program in the start menu. Revo found a couple pages of orphaned registry entries and such. All appeared to be associated with iCloud or at least Apple, so I selected all and deleted. Once the PC was rebooted, the Apple Software Updater installed the new iCloud on the first try (after half a dozen failed attempts before cleaning up the old files with Revo). Thanks for the information.

Dec 3, 2014 12:58 PM in response to Marc Macksby appleguydm,I am getting this error on a NEW install of iCloud for PC on 64-bit Windows using iCloudSetup.exe v4.0.5.20 (v4.1). Has anyone figured out how to get this installed if it is a fresh install (didn't have iCloud for PC on their system originally? My more detailed post can be found here:

Dec 9, 2014 3:14 PM in response to appleguydmby Damian Grabowski,Short lived excitement that the iCloud Win 4.0.2 update released 12-8-14 would resolve the issue on Win 8.1. It did not and still will not install. Tried everything suggested by this community, Revo, Registry Repair, removing Internet Service files in Common to no avail. This is very frustrating on a Lenovo Yoga 3 but installs like a charm on Parallels Virtualization running Win 8.1.
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected... Contact your package vendor, blah, blah."

Dec 9, 2014 5:00 PM in response to Damian Grabowskiby appleguydm,PLEASE HELP! I can't believe it Damian, you're right. I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 also (Win 8.1) and was really hoping Apple would address this bug in it's next release. I just downloaded the newest setup file for iCloud for PC (v4.06.28) and I still get the EXACT SAME ERROR!
Apple, what are you doing? This is definitely a bug on the Lenovo Yoga 3 but it's not just contained to this system -- others with Win 8.1 have the issue. Why can't we even get a response from an Apple Developer to say they will look into this. Are there any options???
