Oct 23, 2014 10:36 AM in response to tomstephens89by Savo9,Hello
I have just got off the phone to Apple Support and they have said this type of issues has affected previous operating systems. However, there is a simple fix which we went through which involves resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) and the Parameter Random-Access Memory (PRAM). All seems to be working fine since I did the resets (Maybe even faster!).
To do this go to the following apple support sites -
- Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
- OS X Mavericks: Reset your computer’s PRAM
I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013), Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7.
I hope that helps.

It solved the problem for you? I mean, for how many hours are you online so far without loosing your wifi connection after this procedure?
By the way, did they tell you if they would release a fix (update) for this?

Oct 23, 2014 10:47 AM in response to marcelokalibby Savo9,My problem was my internet (WIFI) was stupidly slow. It would only really work when I turned my bluetooth off and it returned to normal speed. I never had the issue of being online and then dropping off, I just had really really slow internet with bluetooth on.
I posted the above as soon as I finished the call and I suppose I have been online without any issues for 20-30 mins. Everything seems super fast now.
I asked him if he was aware of this particular issue with Yosemite and he wasn't aware of it. He said updates can cause the SMC and PRAM to get muddled and need to be reset. Therefore based on what he was saying their technicians (in the UK) are not aware of the issue/ bug.

Oct 23, 2014 10:52 AM in response to givacrapby givacrap,Open your HD, click on library folder, do a finder search( .plists). Delete your airport and bluetooth plists ( CMD+Del), reboot . Now your Home prefs folder will have system default plists. Goto the apps and set your personal prefs. and that's it. Shouldn't have to go through this but it's the only way I was able to get things working properly. My main concern was Bluetooth and wifi. Both are now fine.

What? They didn´t know about it? really? Crap.. A lot of sites and forums are talking about this. Trust me, they do know it. Dammit Apple. :/
The most interesting thing is that this is my first apple machine.. my first experience.. Just got the mac mini and in my first use (yeah, decided to start installing yosemite from zero.. so, in my first run with a mac machine, got this stupid bug.
What a great first impression. :/

Oct 23, 2014 10:55 AM in response to marcelokalibby Savo9,I hope they do know about it ... but this technician wasn't aware of that specific issue.
I have been using macs for years and this is the 1st real issue I have had ... try and stick with it bud ... they are great machines.

Oct 23, 2014 11:05 AM in response to Savo9by Anamcr,I think i'm going to do a reinstall on Yosemite just to check if this issue is still going on, if it is, i'm shutting down my brand new 13" macbook pro retina and waiting until this is fixed.
APPLE GO TO WORK.

Oct 23, 2014 11:15 AM in response to Anamcrby mduchezeau,As everyone above, I am having largely the same issue.
Mid 2012 13inch MacBook Pro with 10.10. Updated from Mavericks (not a clean install).
Not noticed the issue with Bluetooth as usually have it automatically disconnected but have noticed WIFI dropping out every few minutes. It appears to remain connected to the WIFI (per the WIFI menu) but usually means I have to refresh the web page a few times to make it work or restart an application (e.g. iTunes).
Doesn't appear to my internet speeds as just ran a speed test and getting on average 73mbps download and 6mbps upload (it is peak time here in UK) although you'd never know it the way Chrome/Safari are performing.

Oct 23, 2014 11:25 AM in response to givacrapby givacrap,Click on HD, click on Library, do a Finder search (.plist) Delete all the plists shown (CMD+Del) and shutdown/restart. Now your Home prefs folder will have system default plists. Goto the apps involved and set your personal prefs. Shutdown again and do a PRAM reset on startup. This is what worked for me. Been running normally for 3 days now. My main concerns were Bluetooth and of course Wifi. Both are operating normally now. Shouldn't have to go through this, but can't wait for first, Apple to acknowledge the problem and second, to do something about it. Hope this works for you as well. Good luck.

Oct 23, 2014 11:38 AM in response to Savo9by MiguelD,Just tried resetting SMC and PRAM. Like all the other fixes - this made no difference. The wifi connection continues to drop randomly.
The best fix and perhaps the only real fix is still going to have to come from Apple. The only way I stay connected is to use the Sophos script that just queries the interface every 3 seconds.

Oct 23, 2014 11:42 AM in response to tomstephens89by Nicholas McMillan,Just fix the issue Apple.
It is not a fluke.
If you can't read see it on your support forums, Google wifi and Yosemite and you will find 10 or 20 threads on the issue.
It's real, stop living in a hole and fix the issue.
You are costing people money.

Oct 23, 2014 12:04 PM in response to tomstephens89by dannymd,As an update, I'm on the phone with Apple care support and they said they have recognized this as a problem and that "engineers are working on it" but no fix yet.
I've tried resetting SMC/PRAM without help. Wifi keeps dropping every 1-2 minutes.
Also, if you search in Google: "Yosemite Wifi Reddit Fix", someone has put together a pretty exhaustive list of different possible fixes. I haven't tried all of them because many are above my technological pay-grade...
