Oct 23, 2014 6:00 AM in response to EvilUnfairby Loner T,Have you checked the Application -> Utilities -> Console for error messages from Bootcamp Assistant? What type of connection, wired or wireless, are you using?
-
Oct 23, 2014 8:55 AM in response to Loner Tby EvilUnfair,Wireless or wired doesn't matter (have tried both).
I've got a 150mbit down connection, which I've routinely run speed tests and other things since setting up the machine. So I'm going to assume the connection isn't the issue.
Here's a dump of everything from the Console. Any of it make sense?

Oct 23, 2014 9:02 AM in response to EvilUnfairby Loner T,In BA, if you check only the Download Drivers checkbox and have a USB plugged in, are you able to download drivers?
Another option is to create the USB with the ISO, if the previous step is successful, right after because BA keeps WindowsSupport.dmg in /Library/Application\ Support/Bootcamp.

Oct 23, 2014 10:09 AM in response to Loner Tby EvilUnfair,It doesn't appear to actually download the drivers at all. There's also no folder at the location you suggested.
It would be nice if Apple just offered a direct download for this instead of requiring the Bootcamp Assistant.

Oct 23, 2014 10:14 AM in response to EvilUnfairby Loner T,There is a direct download at http://support.apple.com/downloads/#macoscomponents.
You need to look at System Requirements to ensure you download the correct version. I have not seen an iMac 5K-specific download though.

Oct 23, 2014 10:14 AM in response to Loner Tby EvilUnfair,The software on that page doesn't support the Retina iMac

Oct 23, 2014 1:11 PM in response to EvilUnfairby Loner T,Using a Late 2103 rMBP 15" - MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) - Technical Specifications and comparing it to iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) - Technical Specifications, the significant difference is the AMD GPU. You can use the Windows Catalyst driver instead. The generic VGA driver should work for your Windows installation.
I suggest trying Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5640 for your BC installation, after Windows completes installation. The worst case scenario is that the installer will give you an error for specific hardware it does not support.
