Oct 21, 2014 3:23 PM in response to momolorientby Geoff37 ,Ssame Safari problems, freezes for several minutes. Apple management need to calm down and not rush headlong to release new ios every year with hopelessly inadequate testing.

Oct 21, 2014 3:39 PM in response to momolorientby hshaheen, the issues with apple are unjustifiable at this point. It's like they are trying af this up intentionally. All the things I like about my iPad are gone. I am looking at the new Samsung tab now.

Oct 21, 2014 4:31 PM in response to momolorientby willyolly ,Come on Apple get the core functions such as Safari working under 8.1. A slow browse makes the iPad all but useless to most users!

Oct 23, 2014 2:07 AM in response to momolorientby Dreamboy,Just comparing how iOS 8 performs next to iOS 7.2.1 on an iPad 3 makes totaly clear that there are huge issues with performance and memory management.
My iPad 3 with iOS 7.1.2 is totally responsive and smooth. With the release of iOS 7 performance was also horrible. But 7.1 finally fixed this. It seems that we are again on the same history, but now 8.1 still doesn't fixed this.
I was lucky enough to roll back from 8 to 7.1.2 wile Apple signed this, and my iPad works great. But it's a shame I can't upgrade to the new version without ruining my iPad and now with no option to go back. Any way 7.1.2 is the demonstration that an iPad 3 can run fast and smooth with this iOS. There's something very wrong on 8.1 that needs to be fixed fast, or many customers will get disapointed.

Oct 23, 2014 3:17 AM in response to momolorientby Albatros blanc,On my wife's iPad mini - same issue with Safari under IOS 8.1
However, under IOS 8.0.1. everything was fine! Never had issues before.
This needs to be fixed very urgently - as the iPad mini is not usable anymore for the Internet!!!!!!

Oct 23, 2014 3:59 AM in response to Porteño-33by Niiina,Same here.
The screen doesn´t react to tapping it sometimes.
Youtube, safari, crome, other apps freeze and stop working.
The pad doesn´t connect with my bluetoothtable.
The wi-fi turns off.
Everything is slow and bugs all the time. Its like having an old PC.
I dont know what to do. Can I go back a version somehow?!
(no issues before 8.02)

Oct 23, 2014 11:02 AM in response to momolorientby Nuf@n,Same here, iPad 3rd gen, very slow. Safari unusable. iPad is ruined unless apple fixes this somehow.
Had big hopes for 8.1 but still super slow.
Apple, please let us downgrade to 7.1.2.
I'm very dissapointed in Apple, This is my last Apple product. My 2009 MacBook is already up for sale, I'll put this iPad up for sale too, but I doubt i'll get anything decent for it due to the performance issues.
I have a Nexus 5 and I love it, will be getting an Android tablet if I can sell this iPad.

Oct 23, 2014 1:27 PM in response to Nuf@nby 3dit0r,Have to agree. I just bought a brand new iPad Air 1, worked fine on iOS 7, then I did the suggested upgrade to 8.1 and it's like it broke my iPad using Safari. Same issues as others here - page won't show as loaded until I pull down on it, links don't work until I do the same, all randomly.
Does anyone have a link for the bug report? Also, suggest everyone following this thread does that, as Apple themselves don't monitor these forums.

Oct 23, 2014 2:54 PM in response to momolorientby azzosa,I Installed iOS 8.1 on my account and now all links in Safari take tens of seconds before I can click on them. Was on iOS 6 until yesterday and never had this problem. Boo. How can I go back to previous version? It's unbelievably frustrating. keep borrowing my sons nexus tablet to browse now.

Oct 23, 2014 3:10 PM in response to azzosaby Nuf@n,Sorry to have to tell you this, but it's impossible to go back... Apple stoped signing 7.1.2 a while back and now there is nothing we can do about it except hope for a fix.

Oct 23, 2014 3:41 PM in response to momolorientby Thomas McCullough Jr.,My iPad2 works great now after IOS 8.1 Update
I did my iPad2 update thru iTunes on my iMac and it was sucking the iMacs memory very low during the update. Safari froze before loading the first web page and I did a hard boot and went fishing as I saw where it was going to take a long time to recover. When I tried again it wasn't quite right and then did one more hard boot and then did a Reset by going to General-Reset-"Reset all Settings" and it works real well now without loosing any data and in-home wi-fi clocks at 17Mbps download. Probably like most of you I’m sticking with OSX 10.9.5 Mavericks as it gets the job done very nicely and don’t need all that extra fancy stuff that probably will slow things down.
