Oct 19, 2014 10:31 PM in response to Mason H.by nxedwards,How do you "Run System Upgrade" from the App Store? I typed in System Upgrade and nothing shows up. What am I missing??
-
Oct 19, 2014 11:18 PM in response to nxedwardsby Mason H.,1) Click on the "App Store" icon on your dock or search spotlight.
2) With App Store open, there should be five tabs names, "Featured" "Top Charts" "Categories" "Purchases" and "Updates"
3) Click on the "Updates"
I apologize it is "Updates" NOT system upgrade.
"System Update" is for linux. I.E: "sudo apt-get update" or "sudo apt-get upgrade" in terminal.

Oct 20, 2014 10:20 AM in response to nxedwardsby John Blanchard1,What kind of printer is it? What happens when you try to print? Is there anything in /var/log/cups/error_log in /Utilities/Console?

Oct 20, 2014 10:28 AM in response to John Blanchard1by cacrider,My Mac is an MacBookAir; printer is a Kodak 5250. It worked perfectly with all osXs until I upgraded to Yosemite. grrrrr.
Error message reads: An unexpected error occurred. Check the printer (100305)

Oct 20, 2014 10:27 AM in response to cacriderby John Blanchard1,Is there anything in /var/log/cups/error_log in /Utilities/Console? It's possible this is a sandbox error or a filter failure. If so, there won't be any updates from Kodak.

Oct 20, 2014 10:32 AM in response to John Blanchard1by cacrider,Can't understand you. What is "sandbox"?
-
Oct 20, 2014 10:34 AM in response to cacriderby cacrider,Found sandbox folder but don't know what anything is in there.
Are you saying all I can do is to reinstall Mavericks???
-
Oct 20, 2014 11:37 AM in response to cacriderby Simontown,I've got exactly the same problem running a Kodak ESP3 Printer.
Even tried uninstalling and re-installing the printer, but still no luck. Ran test prints via Kodak Home Centre, and test prints were OK.
Checked for software updates from Kodak, but firmware and software is up-to-date

Oct 20, 2014 11:38 AM in response to cacriderby John Blanchard1,Look in the error_log in /var/log/cups/ in Console. Is there any mention of sandbox or a filter failure? (I don't mean a "sandbox" folder.) If it is sandbox error, and Kodak won't release new drivers, installing 10.9 or getting a new printer are the possible solutions.

Oct 20, 2014 11:56 AM in response to Simontownby Simontown,Tried to update printer drivers as suggested by Mason H.
Only Kodak drivers available were for MAC OS X 10.9.x, MAC OS X 10.8.x, MAC OS X 10.7.x, MAC OS X 10.6.x, MAC OS X 10.5.x, not MAC OS X 10.10 (Yosemite).
Downloaded the .dmg file anyway and ran instal.
Printer still will not print.
Help would be appreciated please

Oct 22, 2014 8:54 PM in response to John Blanchard1by Simontown,Had a look in console and there were loads of sandbox errors, and so I've emailed Kodak to ask when they are releasing drivers for Yosemite. As of yet, I haven't had a reply.
