How is your iSight connected ? Firewire 400 on iMac ? Through 400/800 adaptor ?

Oct 23, 2014 8:15 AM in response to etigroby EZ Jim,If restarting Mac does not solve your problem, try the relevant suggestions from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090.
The "reset" suggested there often restores camera function.
Don't connect any other Firewire device while you are troubleshooting your old Firewire iSight working.
Firewire iSight can be intolerant of shared Firewire connections.

Oct 23, 2014 9:23 AM in response to EZ Jimby etigro,Thanks for the tip, I will check later today and report back.
What I find odd, is that I have not touched any of the connection before upgrading. Camera and cable was fine and should still be.
The reset in your link only relates to internal iSight. I guess I will try it anyway.

Oct 24, 2014 10:51 AM in response to etigroby etigro,Ok. I have tried and reset the SMC (5 second press on power button of the Mac mini while unplug) but that did not work.
I have no other Firewire device connected.
I also went and ask a Genius at an Apple Store...they probably thought I was a dinosaur and were barely aware that iSight cameras once where not internal.
They asked me to come by with the camera to see if it would work on one of their machine. Why not but not sure they still have a machine with a firewire 400 connection...
Any other idea welcome.

Oct 24, 2014 11:08 AM in response to etigroby etigro,Just to clarify : I checked the camera on an old white 13" Macbook. Works like a charm.
Definitely an issue with the Firewire port
