Q: No sign of Passbook settings or Apple Pay options anywhere.

This has been an ongoing frustration for me this past week. I currently own an iPhone 6, have it running on iOS 8.1, reside in the United States, have my settings in the United States, have attempted to teeter my location between the US & another country, have restarted my phone plenty of times... to no avail. There is no Passbook settings in my setting menu, and I have no option of adding a card. To be frank, I feel as if my iOS 8.1 update didn't do anything for me at all. I'm not understanding how or why I'm not meeting all the requirements to have and utilize my Apple Pay.

    Hi ..

Double check the iOS version just in case.

Settings > General > About then swipe down to Version

If it says 8.1, see if these instructions work for you >  Set up and use Apple Pay

Might be your location. Apple Pay is only supported in the U.S.

What kind of "sign" are you looking for?

In Passbook, tap the + sign in the upper right and you should be presented with the option of adding a credit or debit card for Apple a Pay or a Pass such as a gfit card.

There's no need to turn anything on in Settings.

    Matt

Well, I just reset all my settings; erasing all my Touch ID fingerprints, wallpapers, and changed settings. Nothing has changed as far as Passbook or Apple Pay. I am glad that this worked for you though.

As for everyone else, I don't believe any of you have read my statement thoroughly, or perhaps think I'm mistaken. I have iOS 8.1. My regional setting is set to the United States. There are zero "+" buttons or any options to set up Apple Pay on the Passbook app. IMG_3395.jpgIMG_3396.jpgIMG_3397.jpg

I changed iTunes account to US, then changed the location / region to US on the phone an the reset. I swithced backed my iTunes account to other country and apple pay fails and all card will need to deleted.

I think iTunes, phone location need to USA and reset may work. good luck !

This screenshot shows that you have not yet updated to 8.1.  What happens if you tap Download & Install on the software update page?

I was already at 8.0.2 when I downloded another update that I assumed was 8.1... It went through the motions of loading, and installing & reseting like every update does. It did tell me that it was 8.1 that I was choosing to install. So unless it didn't install, I'm not sure what exactly I experienced but, I am redownloading now. Thank you.

    All,

Since 8.1 was officially release, I have been going through the same frustration re: Passbook & Apple Pay not showing up in the Settings app.  Before I installed 8.1 via Settings->Software Update, I had the final beta installation on my iPhone 6.  I tried various things (Reset All Settings, Erase All Content and Settings) and then retrieved my backup to no avail.

This afternoon, I went to my local Apple Store's Genius Bar.  After a half-hour of repeating everything I had already done, we Erased All Content and Settings.  Then, instead of retrieving my backup, the Genius went and did a clean install of 8.1 on my phone.  I then went through the setup screens, put my Touch ID in and finally, the Settings app had the Passbook & Apple Pay option and I was able to enter my bank card.  There is obviously a problem with the software configuration process for iOS 8.

In conclusion, go to your nearest Apple Store and have them go through the same process and you'll be good to go.

    I hope this helps.

I Just notice this problem early this morning, when I decided to set it up and I thought it was a problem with my credit card, as stated in the setup to add your iTunes payment method as the first instruction, I don't know if that instruction is specific, but it gives you the idea that that has to be done first. Anyway my form of payment I use for iTunes is my "Discover Card", which I don't think is supported right now. So I thought that was my problem, so I changed my form of payment to a card I know is compatible and that didn't work. I reset my settings and that didn't work. By the time I did all that it was getting to late, so I thought I try my luck when I woke by trying what APaola2004 did, but I didn't know why you would have to go to the Apple Store to do this (didn't you know how to restore your IOS or what) please explain. Anyway when I woke I was about to restore my IOS when I got a notice that there was a IOS 8.1 update available, so I did the update, now the Passbook & Apple Pay is available in the settings. I just would like to know for everyone's sake where you APaola2004  able to restore your settings from one of your Backups and still have PassBook & Apple Pay available. Again anyway I think the update was to fix the problem, maybe by deleting my settings before the update help the my problem. Anyways I would try APaola2004  procedure (Restore the IOS).
