Q: MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2011) camera not working after Yosemite 10.10 upgrade?

Anyone out there with a MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2011) camera not working after Yosemite 10.10 upgrade?

I did not try anything else than launching Skype and Facetime, and both were not recognized by the applications - no green light either.

I am hoping I am not alone and there is a fix coming soon, if this is Yosemite related...

    Hi ..

Better to troubleshoot then wait for an update.

I was having a similar problem with FaceTime and Photo Booth - no camera found. On another discussion I found the following and after performing the steps the camera works again.

This is what customer support instructed me to do for my iMac:

    Rest 1.

Shut down computer and unplug power; wait 15 secs.

    Turn on computer.

    Shut down computer.

    Reset 2.

    Turn on computer.

Before gray screen comes up, so almost immediately, press Option-Command-P-R at the same time.

Hold down until you hear the turn-on noise, let go and let the system start up.

I had same problem for the last two days since the upgrade, but thanks to your help it's finally resolved now after attempting reset option 1.

Didn't the it would be this simple! haha

Thanks for sharing the info, it was extremely helpful - Now I can FaceTime my family and friends overseas again!
