Oct 26, 2014 9:05 AM in response to morrisfromdoylestownby Allen A,Hello morrisfromdoylestown,
You may need to verify that "Correct spelling automatically" is enabled in System Preferences.
To open this pane, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Keyboard, then click Text.

Nov 26, 2014 9:32 AM in response to Allen Aby classicalmusic8,Sadly, Allen's suggestion did not help. "Correct spelling automatically" is enabled. spelling still does not work. any other ideas?
good news: dictation now works in iOS 8.1 pages, so maybe Apple will fix this in next update.

"Spelling check in Pages v5.5.1 (Yosemite 10.10.1) will work when you enable/perform the following in order:
- Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Check Spelling When Typing
- Edit > Spelling and Grammar (Either of the following)
- Show Spelling and Grammar
- Check Document Now"

Aug 3, 2015 4:03 AM in response to shippo_ukby harald174,I also have that problem. It's not just Pages or Open Office it also happens within email. I'm surprised Apple keeps releasing updates but fails to fix that issue!

Aug 3, 2015 12:30 PM in response to harald174by Eric Root,Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
Or you can use your Apple ID to register with this site and go the Apple BugReporter. Supposedly you will get an answer if you submit feedback.
